Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice regarding a nasty habbit Skippy is developing....

We regularly take Skippy to our local dog park, we've taken him there since he was a pup - he's 18 months old now. He's always loved mixing and playing with the other dogs - chasing them and being chased, and it's always been a fun game with no problems. Just recently he’s developed a habit of barking constantly when chasing dogs as if to tell them to run faster, he runs right up beside them almost touching them - sometimes he runs into them (and he has bowled over a couple of smaller dogs). I'm sure he is only playing and is excited by the chase - because once they stop racing around they're friends - but it's threatening behaviour to other dogs and I need to put a stop to it before he hurts another dog or gets hurt himself.

His behaviour at home hasn't changed, and he still socialises with other dogs in the dog park very well - just as long as he's not chasing them. This problem has been getting progressively worse over the past few weeks.

Any advice on how to put a stop to this behaviour?

my bitch millie will do this to every smaller dog than herself and i think its her breeding,she is course bred and think she displays taking a hare/rabbit off its feet,unfortunatley we have tol get her on the lead if will see a smaller dog than herself as she would just keep barking until it started running just to course the poor little thing.

Just sounds like excitement barking to me. If they are friends at the end of the chase and the other dog isn't looking put off or upset, then leave them to it, they are having fun!
