Hi I am feeding my little 9 week boy on complete food, but his quota for the day looks so small. If I split it into 3 meals a day it looks tiny amounts. What else can I give him for dinner? Is is ok to give him scrambled eggs every day? Would dairy products give him jippy guts? :x I don't want to make him ill.Thanx

The amount you give him should be enough after all he does only have a small tummy.

You could try him with a small amount of scrambled egg but it could give him a runny bum to start with.

I know some people do mix and match with complete, but I feel that if you're feeding a complete food, then adding a meal of pure protein such as egg could upset the balance of the food you're giving, and give him too much protein.

Take a look in FAQ, there's a whole section on feeding which should give you some good advice and information.

I would stick with your complete, and give it over three meals a day if that's what you would like to do. If he's hungry, perhaps give him a little more. He's probably running around and burning off a lot of calories so could eat more quantity. I think the guide amounts on the packets are just that - guides. Give him more if you feel he needs more  You rarely see a fat whippet, and puppies should be well-covered :huggles:

we all mix and match at times but as they do have different digestive times its not advisable, also complete means complete..

Hi Sarah

Did the breeder give you a diet sheet.

We always rear our puppies on fresh meat and milky meals at that age. They also have a little complete but not every meal.

If you are going to change the diet do it gradually as any sudden change will upset his stomach.

Do u intend to feed him a complet diet?

Our puppies are 14 weeks and this is what they get to give u some idea

Breakfast - weetibix or rice pudding made with full fat milk

dinner - Complete meal

Tea - Cooked chicken

Supper - Cooked chicken or best steak minced and drink of full fat milk

They also have bonio type shape biscuits as a treat nearly every day.

Hope this helps
