Well, it's ten days since Alfie had the operation to fix his broken leg. I think his leg looks fantastic - you would never believe it was broken at all!

It's great to see the leg looking nice and straight:

Here he is relaxing (it's starting to get a bit more difficult to keep him still as he doesn't seem to think there's anything wrong with him any more)

... and here's a close up of his wound - I think it's healing really nicely

I'm sorry, but I think the vets kept Alfie and sent a giraffe to live with you :p

He is looking ever so handsome, great to hear his recovery is going well too

wow that is fantastic and only 10 days after his surgery? it's amazing how quickly things can heel and it looks like a great job as well - good luck with keeping him still :) that's the hard bit now.

I take it he has a pin in his leg. It is a really good mend and so straight. Hope he progresses well. I don't envy you keeping him calm

Alfies leg is looking really well, it must be difficult keeping him still though, how long is it before he can be active? He is such a gorgeous boy, and Blue who I see in the background too

That is amazing. His wound looks like it is healing really well and his leg looks ever so straight.

I am delighted to see Alfie looking so happy and well.

Jill - Alfie looks really red in that photo, like Rowan. Is that a true reflection of his colour? I always thought he was more of a silvery fawn.

Amazing how Alfie's leg has healed so well :D He looks great - hope it's not too long before he's 100% back to normal.

That is looking wonderful - it is hard to believe it was just two weeks since he did it.

Claire - he is very much a silver fawn, nothing like Rowan. I have seen photos of Dave where he looks very gingery, but he isn't at all and Alfie is exactly like his Dad

Ooops multiple posts!

He's got a metal plate and ten screws in there - quite the bionic whippet

No exercise whatsoever at least until the 2nd November  That's when he goes back to the specialist, he'll be sedated again and they'll take x-rays to check everything has healed as it should before we get the go ahead to begin some gentle exercise. It seems like a long time away!!!

That's just the way the photo came out - he's silver fawn in the flesh ... or should I say in the fur :) The nurse at the specialist vets commented on how everyone loved his colour so much - she said they thought it was the kind of colour that made you feel calm when you looked at it ... I'll have to ask Alfie to keep looking at himself  She also described it as a kind of cappuccino colour but I see him much more as a latte!!!

That look great,,much the same as Colts leg,,,it is hard to keep them quiet,,I gave Colt loads of toys and chews,,he put on a bit of weight,,,but soon walked it off.

So pleased to see that he is doing so well. The time will soon go, its already almost 2 weeks into his recovery.

Alfie's legs looks fantastic. He is such a lucky boy to have such a great specialist vet and most importantly, a wonderful family to look after him. I feel so positive about his recovery now. We all send him our love and whippet kisses xxx

Alfie is making great progress, he looks so well considering his trauma, keep up the good work little fella.
