This may take some time to get down on the screen so grab a pillow and rest your weary heads as i send you off to dreamland -_-

well, yesterday began as each fair usually does, with an air of tension mixed with 2 parts apprehension. thankfully the rain stayed away till after the racing was done so umbrellas were left as they should be..in the car.

baby1 as every year bites her tongue and takes the names for each heat..bless her wee pregnant socks :* the dogs were to run in a different order than usual..whippets overs and then unders.

dogs and owners then got ready down at the starting line and for some strange reason the tension relaxed. "weve all waited for this one and now its here" is the thoughts milling thru everyones heads as the first dogs are called up. whippets..3 heats and all away clean! overs next. the lure appeared to slow up and whistler was on it ! the result stood with Whistler and Colts sister Molly going thru. next heat had my laundry bill going sky high in the calvin klein department as my underwear was possibly about to go from crisp white to brown  ..it was Colts heat. this was it ..the big test. he hadnt had a slip for 7 weeks since Ballywalter so would he breakdown ? hell no !! he won his heat with flying colours :) so immediatly i checked him over and put him back in the car. i was actually going to pull him out as thats all i wanted from him but ofcourse when they called the final he was in it.

Unders up next with Roses Tori out to defend her title along Billyboys bros dog Nikita with a few newbees in the first heat.

2 dog race at the end looked close enough from the starting line but the last 100 yds Tori was alone. Up comes the monkey-dogs race. with Bluebells Paris and again a few newcomers. Darren was slipping her. he had all sorts of tries at getting her held the best way..shes a bloody eel :( Anyway she won the heat by a load of lengths so pleased she was in the final.

final heat had Zena in it. she lead from the start to win also by a long way....so now the finals loomed.

Have to mention k9s Macha made an incredible journey from Londonderry by train with whippets galore and a cage on wheels !! now that folks is dedication ! her trip paid off as she had 2 dogs i think in the final. whippet final was a great clean race with Roberts dog taking the honours and Macha 2nd.

The next final was the overs. what a line up !! all the usual suspects....Jack Whistler Colt his sister Molly Tia and sharon and geoffs big lad. i think thats right

away they go...!! BP @ 200 ffsake  :sweating: as the pix on here by born to hunt show... a few lengths covered the first 4 dogs with the others a couple more behind. Whistler seemed to be in front by a half then decided hed turn his head to Jack and lost it !! Jack by half length giving Anne her 2nd in a row !! Frankie..your face said it all mate. Colt in 3rd and Molly 4th...result !

Now then...the unders final with the 3 main contenders all there...Tori Zena and China. the track has a slight curve to it and Zena along with China were at the left with Tori to the opposite side of the line. off they go !! for a horrible moment Zena and China were that close to the apex of the curve it looked liked they could run out !! nooooooooooo not again :sweating: :sweating:

we shit our pants true enough as the front runners approached the line. the new kids had the lead as the line came closer.....China...Zena and a spirited run from the title holder back in 3rd !! Tension over and a new "All Ireland Champion" in my little monkey dog ! i didnt know wether to take my shirt off or my jeans....then i remembered my jeans may well be filled at the back so i opted for the shirt...

YEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!

Special mention time...Deidre and Rose...after all the well publicised nonsense between us it took balls to come to me and shake my hand

Then better again you opened a few bottles of bubbly ...i heard a voice in my head say...."bet shes laced it with cyanide" :- " lol well if you did it mustve been in one of the other bottles

i think everyone got a sip or 3. id like to think now weve buried the past.

Darren and Ian cheers for your help with my muts too. super job.

Finally....Congrats to the other winners and runners up. Coatsy, Zena ran superb mate as did Tori. well we didnt expect it to be any different did we !

i guess ill have to change my signature now to add..

"China Breeze"....ALL IRELAND CHAMPION 2008 ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
