AMBER

Amber is a beautiful little lurcher who is around a year old. She is thought to be Saluki x Whippet though there could be some Collie in there too. Amber has a gorgeous, silky soft, fawn coat with feathers and dark liquid eyes that just melt your heart.

Little Amber had a very tough start to life, and despite her young age has already been bred from. She was rescued from appauling conditions and was very emaciated with a heavy parasite burden when she first came to us. With lots of good quality food and TLC, she is improving daily and gaining weight. These photos were taken after being in our care for 5 weeks, so you can imagine how thin she was when she first came to us. She still has a good bit to go before she is at her ideal weight, but she LOVES her food so it shouldnt take too long now.

Amber is currently in a foster home in Ireland, which she shares with other dogs and older children with no problems at all. She is a no-hassle type of girl, quiet in demeanor and very gentle. She adores any bit of fuss you give her, and will stand for ages with her head in your lap just soaking up the love. After such a hard start to life, she is truly grateful for every bit of care and comfort given to her.

Amber has now just about mastered housetraining, though is a bit of a food thief! This is hardly surprising considering how starved she was, and this behaviour should calm down once she learns that she will get regular meals.

Amber has gotten on well with all the other dogs she has met so far. She can be left in the house with other dogs for company without problems and is non-destructive in the home. Regarding exercise, Amber is a typical lurcher - content to snooze the day away after a quick whizz around the garden and a short walk. She is not cat friendly.

Amber is currently in foster care in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Amber will be neutered as soon as she puts on a bit more weight. She has been vaccinated and microchipped and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This very special little girl will make a fantastic addition to whomever opens up their heart and their sofa for her.

If you are interested in offering this special little girl a space on your sofa, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our information pack and adoption questionnaire. Thanks!
