This is Zedd - this was his second match for him taking Breed and

Puppy Hound Group 2 - all at the tender age of 3 months -

Lovely looking pup, but 3 months just seems way to young to be showing, its like 5 yr old kids doing gcse's!

just my opinion - I'd rather they could just be pups and play and sleep

Hi Dwight,

 Lovely baby, congratulations on his wins,

Hi Medding, we also have baby puppy classes 3-6mths here in Ozzie, which I enter, very good socialisation for babies, besides we like to include our babies in our weekends away. My Carson - Chilli daughter picked up 5th place sash at Adelaide Royal yesterday(all breeds babies entered)

Must admit I do agree . 6 months IMO is quite young enough , but each to their own .

I dont think at 3 months Ive even had some of mine on a lead at all :teehee:

once the puppies have had their shots we try to get them all out to shows

and as many gatherings as we can - that way when its time to show them

they are pretty much bullet proof going around all the noise and hub-bub

of shows and racing and coursing -

many of the puppy owners travel great distances to pick up their puppy -

1000 miles is not too uncommon - and of course traveling that far necessitates

that they have to be exercised several times - for that reason and others

all of the puppies are lead trained by the time they are 8 weeks old - in

addition they are started on the table - and I try to trim their nails with

the dremmel by the second day after they are born and continue every

5 or 6 days - none of my dogs fight having their nails done -

they have been imprinted - we cannot teach puppies not to chew - however

we do teach them what the word NO means and give them alternate things

to chew on - puppies are crate trained to a certain extent and all have traveled

with us to shows and coursing events - we try to make that as pleasurable

for them as possible -

we try to give the new puppy owner one that is used to strange things and

situations and take them in stride - our puppies like to go places - explore -

and do things different - we like it that way and it seems to please the

new owners - and it sure makes our life easier in the long run -

Mine go everywhere with me too, lots of differing experiences in short bursts, not all day hanging round at a show.

I take mine on public transport, to meetings, to town and city centres, but all for an hour or so.

Just my opinion.

I do see where you're coming from in a way, but just think a show is too stressful and restricting (being cages and on lead)
