The dog got put to sleep by the police, I believe, from the article.

Sounds like the owner of the dog did everything right, I'm understanding the dog got out by mistake

There will be people now calling for all exempt bullys to be euthanased, I reckon

I don't blame the man with the machete (spelling), sounds like he was doing everything he could to get the dog off the woman

That's horrific.
But part of the owner doing everything right should have been to ensure the dog couldn't get out by mistake.

If they do look at more action around XL bully dogs, I hope they risk assess it first, rather than a knee jerk reaction. The loss of a (well trained/behaved/loved dog) can be devastating. That said, I met someone recently, an adult, who was attacked by dogs as a child. She was nervous of my dog, Rusty, who is the gentlest soul and is very nervous of people, he was more scared of her than the other way round. But I understand it, not everyone likes dog and safety must always come first. As a child, I was scared of dogs myself.

In this situation where the dog physically attacked, the action that got taken was fair in my opinion, once a dog is out of control then safety has to be the priority/

When a dog is clearly under control, I agree it shouldn't be killed just because of it's breed.
