Anybody Tryed

was gonna get one but then had hair cut short, just bought some glass straighteners reduced to a tenner in currys! Luv a bargain :D

Never tried this :(

Nicky, I have GHD straighteners ..they are brilliant and well worth the money, especially if you have long hair (which I no longer have) I don't think any hairdryer combo thingy would do as good a job.

Nicky - GHD is the make (good hair day it stands for!). They are pretty pricey but the ones that are used in a lot of hair salons. I've had a variety of straighteners to contend with my very thick and naturally curly mop! I prefer Tourmaline ones to ceramic

Got to agree with my sister on this one. :p

I have very long, thick hair that has got a natural wave to it – I use tourmaline ones and they are great. I don’t think that GHD are worth the money – when they straighten my hair at the hairdressers it’s no better than when I’ve done it myself at home. They are also prone to blowing up and the ceramic melting. £120 for straighteners is ridiculous, especially when you can get ones that are just as good for half the price.

Jo also have very thick hair and hers is always (well most of the time!) lovely and straight. If these can tame our hair then that’s a good sign!

im confused now is tourmaline the make of them ? :b do you have a link i can get them from also what sort of heat sheild sray do you both use ? :)

Nicky I can't make a comparison as never tried the Tourmaline ones.(they sound good tho)

GHD were great for my long hair and I still use them now.

Hairs (w00t) a link http://ghd-uk.co.uk/ u could pick up a pair on ebay probably :) AND you can get pink ones

But be warned, the curly locks are coming back in

I have GHDs and they are excellent. I got a smaller pair so they can also be used to curl hair as well..... don't ask me how - but my friend regularly borrows them to curl hers!

Whatever pair you end up getting don't wrap the cord round them when you are putting them away. This causes the wires to split inside the cord and is the main cause of straightners overheating and going on fire! (w00t)

All straighteners can be used to curl hair too

It looks good but took me an hour and a half to do

Don't do it!!!! I've got the straightest her ever, it is so annoying, I can't do a thing with it - I want a perm  (not like an 80s one though!).

Yes you can curl hair with straigheners  I had mine done for a wedding recently. I've got some pics but I'm not putting them on cos I was a bit drunk

I'll find a link for you.

I don't use any protective spray :b But I only straighten my hair once a week. It's not good for it, and I like my hair wavy!

I just remembered - GHD were on watchdog last year due to quite a few spontaneously setting themselves on fire whilst in use (w00t) This happened to a pair that my hairdresser had.

Im sure after all the negative publicity they had the problem is now sorted though!

thanks for all the replies ...now i have to choose which ones to get ,its hard life being a women and trying to look good ,somtimes whish i was a man ...my man gets up combs hair and is ready (w00t) me takes me 2hours to get ready to go out

I hate to go against the grain but my friend uses the hair dryer all the time and has done mine with it too - it does a great job as long as you put some styling gel or cream on beforehand so that it doesn't go flyaway.

i always use a heat protecting spray..........it stops your hair from going to dry if you use them all the time (which i do cos one side of my hair is kinky  )

Always use a heat protecting spray... tresseme does a good one! :)
