HI Has anyone been to this little island ? any tips or suggestions for nice restaurants, trips etc. gratefully received

Ella's staying with her brother Riley, so she'll have a fab time  o:)

Nope :D

Hope you have a great time though

Is that the Greek island where you go over by boat....only our friends go almost every year

:b No idea what its like ........

But Id be willing to test it out first for you if you would pay my expenses :- " (w00t) - Have a great holiday 8)

Skiathos is beautiful, our hotel was right on the beach, lovely friendly Greeks, lots of taverna's with delicious food.

Boat trip to Skopelos was really good, highlight was the dolphins playing at the bow.

Average age of guests where we stayed was about 70, but they were good fun, bit like in the movie 'Cocoon' and I can see why they keep coming back, some for the 8 th, 12 th and even 15 th time (w00t) I guess at that age when you've been all around the world you know what you like and keep returning to meet up with old friends.

I'd recommend this island to anyone, still retains old charm, tiny airport with a short runway and space on the apron for only 3 planes ! adds to the excitement.

Have returned well chilled out, which will probably all undo when I go back to work on Monday :(

Have a look at 'Troulos Bay Hotel'.....not that I'm picky but if they could change their gritty sand for perfect , painfree soft pure sand it would be heaven on earth

Glad you had a good holiday Julie

Greece is my favourite holiday destination ever, my most favourite place is Halkidiki and if i ever won the lottery this is where i would buy a holiday home been there about 5 time and just love it, would have to get the girls all there jabs done I know they would just love it there

thanks, we went to Halkidiki few years ago, prom was lovely, although (being a foot wimp as you can tell from my post :- " ) the only thing I didn't like was the stoney beach, you couldn't run or play frisbee or build castles, we made a walk to the water with large pebbles to make it a bit more comfy, never seen so many peeps wearing their shoes in the sea

can't remember which peninsular we went to, the resort began with P, ? polyocastrisa or something
