No one is doubting lurcherworld didnt handle it well. the reason it was mentioned is that i thought people would be as shocked as i was once they heard what had gone off, and that they ought to know to be aware of what lengths these people will go to to steal a dog.
IT WAS A BAD EXPERIANCE TO SEE FOR THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN, BUT THESE THINGS HAPPEN ,IT COULD BE IN YOUR STREET ARE AT A SHOW YOU CANT BOW DOWN TO THESE PEOPLE I FOR ONE SHOULD KNOW THAT, AS IVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEM DOWN HERE AS WELL AND I DONT THINK THEY WILL COME HERE AGAIN MARK

This really brings it home, we need to stick together in this. All the wind ups and banter on here is nothing, if our dogs are going to get targeted as we race and show them, perhaps we all need to look out for each others dogs, to keep them safe at all times, in our cars as well as out of them.

"Wise words Wunwin),..(feck me,.that hurt getting me tongue round that)

All the foolishness and occasional argument really means nothing when a fellow lurcherman is in danger of losing his jukel. Right from the outset in the rise in popularity of the running dog, I always thought it a good idea to have plenty of photos and images of my dogs. Nobody ever tried to steal them,.basically because they were not the 'ideal' choice  But,.I always knew that if some divi did chor one,..he would have to kill it,...coz it would be instantly recognisable ;)

There is no 'guaranteed' way to protect our lurchers from a determined thief,..but I feel sure that the more photos we have of them in the public domain,..the better.

So,..get them cameras out..

We had reports at Kelmarsh that certain undesirables had been hanging round the coursing area at Tame, and when the dogs were running, these people were running on and trying to catch them as they were finishing!! One story we heard is that they tried to catch one guys dog and the guy hit them with a chair, so the police were involved! Is this true?? If so, i think people ought to know, so that we can all be more careful when running dogs at these events. It makes you wonder what lengths people will go to to steal dogs.
Really horrified at this, a number of people told me they had been to Thame and wondered about the police helicopters, but I never thought this would have been the reason!! :( :))

thats awful to hear. i live nr appleby n of course we get loads coming to appleby horse fair, my boyf got very badly beaten up by about 6 of em just because of his surname!! we have also had them bring badly injured lurchers (usually bull crosses) into the rescue hoping to swap em for another and threatening to shoot em if we dont take em in. it was very upsetting but as my supervisor said at least they brought em up instead of just letting them wander or indeed shooting them.
