Anyone Know This Dance From Sunday

stormydog said:
I dont care a toss who thinks im bigging my dogs up...they deserve it !  When i left on friday night at 8pm both woofers had 5 mins outve the car in liverpool,  13 hours they were in the car  and when i got to Chatsworth the racing was 20mins after i arrived. Both ran ok but i knew the werent anywhere near running well for obvious reasons. The track was as i was told it would be....the worst ive ever seen in the whole of the UK.  Like ive said before this was no reflection on the NLRC as they are allocated this ground and have to make do with it. Injuries galore over the 2 days with 2 owners hospitalised never mind injured dogs.China was pipped by a nose by the final winner in her semi-final so no shame there, Colt shoulder to shoulder with one of old rivals Dillon but lost it at the line, beaten by 2 great dogs and owned by 2 well respected racers.

Sunday was a different day  :- " ...big crowd of dogs 4-5 heats each time with a fantastic crowd of spectators the length of the "mountainous" track all cheering the combatants on.

Some fabulous heats with my 2 into each final..China against Amanda & Petes "finn"  and Colt against Peonys "Archer".

No injuries and 2  1sts  8)   and i was well pleased for each of the runners up putting up a good fight.

Special mention for Caroline who stuck with a terrible pup who was nurtured and endured till she got him spot on. All those problems you had you dealt with and turned around a nightmare pup into a great dog.

My wee China is still a bit heavy but ill sort that ill put that down to my inexperience...when i get her weight right...well lets wait and see

Colt is my Hero....simple as that. The dog has went through a cauldron of injuries this year (heart murmur thrown in for good measure) and still produces the goods at any distance 120yds this weekend or 600 at Monmouth.

            YOURE THE MAN COLT !!

Have to take me at off ta ye Stormy.Had a sneaky feeling you would pull it off.Well done is all i can say.Well done to Caroline too, cause as John say's,the pup was a bit of a nightmare, from the beginning. He also chewed her camera to bit's,as he was interested in photography, just like his stupid breeder.I am in no way trying to take anything away from Colt and Archers owner's here,in saying that i take great pride in the little bit of imput that came from my yard with these two,as i bred both Colts mum,and Archer. So well done to them both. .Billy.

WELL DONE  DOGS A CREDIT TO YOU

First off, a HUGE well done to John and his incredible pointies  I felt honoured to have been able to see the 'double' @ Chatsworth yesterday. The three of them have such a connection, which is evident in the photo ....... the look of love in Colts' eyes as he watches his Dad is wonderful and a joy to see.

I would also like to thank John for slipping Archer for me.................. being such a novice at this game, I am aware of my limitations and when Archer ran at Worcester a few weeks ago, my crapola slipping gave the rest of the runners a 4 length head start on him (w00t) . Not wanting to jeopardise Archer this time, I asked John to do it for me and it certainly paid off. However, in the final, with Colt and Archer against one another, an equally talented man, who I know only as 'Pete' stepped in and did the job admirably. Thanks to both of you chaps

I am very proud of Archer ( thanks John and TC for your kind words :huggles: ) .............. I have always thought he was fast, but he hasnt had the chance to run against others properly, so to see him hold his own against decent dogs, really made me chuffed. As far as I am concerned though, him just winning his heat was enough for me :D but to win another and then attempt to take on the indomitable Colt, was pretty good going.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day out, made all the more pleasant by the lovely lurcher people there ...what a friendly crowd you all are and look forward to seeing you all again.

PS Thanks too millyboy  firstly for your kind words and secondly for allowing me to buy Archer from you. You must be well chuffed as you had a hand in the conception of both of Sundays winners. Oh, and not splitting hairs here, but the camera wasnt eaten but knocked from my hands during a 95mph flypast

Apologies for the thread hijacking Stormster :- "
