thinking of rubbing dogs down with either lavender oil or tea tree mixed with a carrier oil.......

should be pretty safe i think?????

can use on children.........

none of our dogs have allergies........

has anyone else used oils before?

thought it would make the older ones a bit sweeter :huggles:

and of course both oils are natural antiseptics/may have repellent qualities too?

just been googling.....

quite a few choices/ideas of why to use etc....

why not tea tree? don't they like it?

cannot see tea tree listed amongst suggestions.

Yes I use Essential oils too... :thumbsup: Tea tree is ok if well diluted and used alongside other oils but not for prolonged use.. or where the dogs can lick it off... My sister in law is an aromatherapist

I also use a paw dip which is made from 4 essential oils from Avena Products.com

if you have the racing rubs it has a list of oils on there they use in that we copend it amd maid our own and it works just as well just make sure its diluted to the right amounts and your fine

the lovely oils will have to take a back seat for a few months-just rubbed them all down with frontline this morning......... :b

and I won't go into the bloody farce-trying to buy the stuff-ridiculous! :rant:

it would be easier to buy heroin...... :wacko:

Lavander oil is great for stopping stitches itching, but only use it once they hav begun to heal otherwise it hurts like mad.

Tea Tree droped onto dog beds helps repel fleas.

Tea tree has been known to cause epilepsy in a few dogs & it's very astringent,so imo,i wouldn't use it!

Lavender is very safe & is anti bacterial & has tremendous healing properties so it's a safe option :thumbsup:
