Well what a wet day. We got there is was dull but dry then just as we went to go in the ring it started to rain. We decided to brave it and stay outside but becase of a delay due to a problem with ring numbers by the time we got to go in the rain had got much heavier and it was decided we should got inside.

I didn't have a catalogue so can't tell you all the winners but puppy winner was one of Owen's puppies Lenny Dawn won junior with Spider another of Owen's boys (Larry) was 2nd in junior Jax was 2nd in open with Libbeeshe also had India? but don't know how she did. I thibk itwas Ch Nevedit Kfa Kraka was BOB hound group 1 and B I S. My gang did nothing it was Angel's first show and she behaved so that did me.

David and his pup Lenny were B P I B and went on to get puppy group 3 at only their 2nd show.

On the way home there was an accident on the A52 and we had to make a detour so eventually got home at 7.30 soaking wet and cold then had to phonr David and Jackie who was there with her pups to make sure they got home ok as they left before us. They had both missed the accident.

glad you had a good day and your little angel was well behaved

Well done to Dave with his pups , Dawn won Junior with Spider and Richard was 2nd in open with her mum . Libbee was 3rd in Open and India won Post Grad and reserve best of breed behind CH N Ka Kraka

I bought a lovely duck for my garden

Bet Dave was pleased then

Well done Jax and lovely India and Dawn and beautiful Spider

What kind of show is this?

I am still trying to figure out the English system, so excuse an American's ignorance.

We have the Championship shows at which tickets are given. Check.

We have the Open Shows which seem to be exactly like the Championship shows only no tickets, an unlicensed judge can do them, and there are some extra "fun" classes. Check.

Then, there are horse shows where you can also show dogs? And the same dogs who show in the above two shows go to those as well? :)

This is pretty interesting. I'd love to hear more about how Whippets can be shown at a Shire Horse Show.

:teehee:

Ashborne Shire horse show is just the name of the show Karen . We run in conjunction with it . I watch the judging of the Filly foal class

Like an agrigulcural show I suppose only smaller , Still run under normal open show KC rules

I think you could say India won `best filly `in breed

I think over here you would call that a sanctioned match.

Do wins at such shows count towards the JW?

they certainly do  It is really just an Open show held in conjunction with the horse show

Oh! then it is much more than a sanctioned match.

We don't have an equivalent to an Open show over here.

There's nothing in between championship level and counts-for-nothing-but-ribbons-and-experience.

I like the Open Show concept.
