Next Whippet Fun Day Healesville Greyhound Track. for more info, email us at y v w r c at ( use @) hotmail dot (use .) come and leave out all the spaces.

Saturday 18th September 11am start is our next whippet fun day at the Healesville Greyhound Track. Our last day was an amazing success in the most appalling weather. The track was so boggy and wet we had to run beside it, but even so the whippets took it all in their stride. The spectacular photos Pete took have had well over 2000 views, the most ever for any of our days.

There's a chance it will be the same on the 18th as amazingly, as I write, the greyhounds have not raced on the track since late May. They were supposed to go back July 4th!

So, at this stage I am reminding you that we are set for Saturday September 18th but I will confirm this the night before or the actual morning of the 18th because as you know, sometimes we've had the track cancel on very short notice and we've had to make other arrangements.

We are in desperate need of more help, we need a secretary and a treasurer urgently and more helpers, as we will only have 5 on Saturday and to be honest, I am wondering how we will manage. This seems to be a standard problem with many clubs. No one wants to step up and help. So I ask you all to consider giving us a hand and getting involved. Please!

Other than that the formula will be the same, fun runs $5 per whippet/dog for members, $10 per whippet/dog for non members for as many runs as your dog wants. Muzzles are compulsory for all dogs running and are for sale or hire on the day. Barbeque and soft drinks for sale, free tea and coffee, and a raffle.

All dogs must be leashed unless actually racing. I noticed a couple running free last meeting. Please be responsible and control your dog. When you arrive have your dog already leashed in your car so they dont leap out and run willy nilly.

Because this is our first Saturday it would be great if you could send an email if you plan to come, to give me an idea of numbers, and how many snags to buy.

We hope to see you all.

Linda

Sorry, that is the day of our specialty! haven't been to the fun day for years, there is always something else on the day - or all my girls are in season LOL

I will make it one of these days.

Hope you will have a great day :)

Have a great time at the show. I dont think you've ever come to one of our fun days anyway. Hopefully at the new venue eh?

Amazing photo! Wish I was in Australia and I'd be there!

No, I have never quite made it to one of yours, but I did and still do intend to. Where is the new venue? One of the reasons I do not want to go when one of the girls is in season, is that Healsville is so far away - 98km from here, and I do not like to leave her all alone locked in the house for most of the day.
