I don't suppose any of you recognise this littel girl. Her name is Ashlyn She was handed into Cordelia's Rescue, 13 months old and pregnant, because the owner did not want to deal with the possiblility of a C-section. Would loved to see this owner named and shamed.

She has no dew claws, and the dumper knew the history of c-sections in her line, as well as knowing the sire. The pups look purebreed at this stage.

I hope your wish comes true Tesa,

What a horrible thing to do to such a beautiful girl, would be interesting to find out if the owner was the breeder. Or if the breeder know's what happened to a pup they bred, I would be horrified if it happened to one of mine.

I hope Ashlyn finds a forever loving home as well as her pup's. :luck:

Agree 100% - this is why I posted this.

I doubt that they will be found, but would like to see us try.... so assuming that the owner was not the breeder, then everyone please pass this on to anyone who may have breed Ashlyn.  It may also be worth looking through your old NSWCC gazettes to see if you can work out a registered litter fitting her age (so her breeder can be located).  If on the other hand the owner was the breeder, then they need to be named, shamed and reported.

The fact that she does not have her dewclaws tells me that whoever bred her knows to do this... and how did the owner know about the history of c-sections??

I hope Ashlyn finds a forever loving home as well as her pup's. :luck:

Can't help wondering if the name Ashlyn is a coincedent, or is it a reference to Hillsdown Ashling??

I assuming the rescue centre would have a contact number to the person who dumped her. Couldn't they ask who bred her?

It is very strange that somebody would dump pregnant bitch they deliberately mated, yet the pups look very much Whippets.

Thankfully, from now on all microchipped dogs will have the name of their breeders in their records permanetly, and it will be easy to find the background of cases like this.

Hope they will all find good homes :luck: :luck: :luck:

Sometimes I really hate people..............

I'll bet it was an accidental mating rather than a deliberate one.  At 13 months it would have to be her first season.

Hope they will all find good homes :luck:   :luck:   :luck:

I am sure they will, they are in very safe hands

BTW just so that I am being clear hear, the only knowledge I have of this dog and this rescuer is what I have gained from stumbling across it on the internet.

Hopefully the NSW whippet club & all the other states for that matter will publish photos in their rags to get the word out about this. Someone might recognise the bitch & the word about just who did this will be out. Wouldn't that be nice, there are alot of unscrupulous people out there. Would be good to see some of the named & shamed.

If you hadnt been in Australia, the first girl I thought about was Lucy (Lucys mum) lost her, and pleaded on K9for her return two years ago - she was such a beautiful girl too.

Yes I do remember her Janis, how could anyone who had been on K9 at the time not. Lucy's mum deserved to find that dog, her search was heartbreaking :(

What I meant was that they could notify the breeder. She looks like a nice Whippet, albeit bit starved. I agree absolutely that if people would be publicly shamed we would be finding these dogs tied somewhere to a tree, or worse.

Would be nice to think that, that might happen, but somehow, I think it won't Lida.

Why are people so horrid

Ashlyn is so pretty as are her puppies

what a beautiful blackeyed girl, let's hope the rescue can sell her pups for a decent price to gain some money for the good of dogs like her.

I hope she finds a good home soon as the pups are old enough

Is there anybody in NSW you could ask to look through their KC gazettes for the registration of Whippet litters born around the time this girl would have been born? If she is from a registered litter it should not be too difficult to find who bred her. :)
