The racing for the ABCDE was very enjoyable and the dogs did their owners proud

but having said that the entry for this event was very disappointing

Only 9 Scratch dogs in total, 3 Pups, 4 Yearlings, 6 Veterans, 21 up to 24lb, 7 up to 32lb.

it could possibly be that owners are now getting their dogs ready for the bends, or they are now tired after all the travelling this season and especially as this event is so soon after the Championships.

It begs the question have we filled our racing calender over the limit ?

Not only do owners and dogs begin to feel the strain of all the travelling , we now need to seriously think about the cost with the fuel prices being as they are.

We have the BWRA AGM coming up shortly and this would be the ideal opportunity for all of us to discuss and plan the racing calendar for the future.

Please make the effort to attend if you can as your ideas might be the saving of the racing.

Can I take this opportunity to thank all of you who have taken part in this seasons BWRA Events, your charges have given us all some wonderful memories and may their be many more star turns to come.

my kindest regards to you all Doreen (BWRA SECRETARY )

I do think a lot of people have started getting their dogs ready for the bends like you say

yea i do aswell there was a few schooling at warweick the other week and highgate the other day and it seems there always trialling at hockindon and westhoughton hopefully starts again soon so ther lots of dogs will b running the bends nearly forgot bout easington too.

I agree people have started to get dogs ready for the bend racing ----I am also sure that all the fuel cost that are on the up will have some bearing on attendances----this is not a rich mans sport and some folk will be hard pressed to find funds to travel every weekend-- plus things are on a downward trend in general with all the nasty array of innuendos-being bandied about at every given opportunity -----by the minority i will add--not the majority---
