) After a prolonged delay, whilst we looked for safer suroundings, we finally kicked of the season with our first club meeting on 21st May.We are still operating in the North Warwickshire area, now from the village of Shuttington, were we have the use of good facilities and a track of about 145yds (with an up hill run and finish).
On Saturday, we had 9 dogs running for club points and 6 trial dogs. Results as follows.
Heat 1 - Squizzel, Fly, Flute.
Heat 2 - Exhibit, Crystal, Just Brandy
Heat 3 - Nelly, Call Me Madam, Just Billy
Heat 4 - Squizzel, Nelly, Just Brandy
Heat 5 - Exhibit, Fly, Just Billy
Heat 6 - Crystal, Call Me Madam, Flute
Heat 7 - Squizzel, Crystal, Just Billy
Heat 8 - Exhibit, Flute, Nelly
Heat 9 - Fly, Call Me Madam, Just Brandy.
Overall winners were Squizzel and Exhibit - well done!
Pete and Anne Brown's dog 'Leo' ran three good clearance trials - so will now be eligiable for racing.
Our other trial dogs were Hatty, Sunny, Saffie, Piglet and Blue - all coming along nicely.
We generally enjoyed being out as a club again, even if the later part of the afternoon was mared with continuous rain - but that never stopped a whippet or it's owner from running!!
