I really would like your comments on these Topics, I am appalled that the Kennel Club is doing nothing to help the buyers when things go wrong, yet they are supporting bad breeders

I would like to know, if anyone has complained to the Kennel Club, what response did you receive

Let me know what you think, you can post your comments as a guest as I have opened these topics to unregister members

its disgusting that the kennel club dont take an active involvement in stopping these puppy farms from registering pups but unfortunately these people would still carry on breeding and selling pups whether they were kc reg or not.i know mayfield kennels.the pups are presented in nice clean little rooms behind glass doors.what the public dont see are the dumps that churn these pups out year after year, and the terrible conditions that they are kept in.i blame local councils that dont take their responsibilities to make sure that dogs that are being bred in their area are kept in clean enviroments and that the bitches arent being bred from every season.they have the powers to do it.they just cant be bothered most of the time.if people who bought a pup from a bad enviroment could ring up the council to complain and the council would send out maybe a vet,dog warden and enviromental health officers to do spot checks to see the kind of conditions that pups are being kept in and if they arent satisfactory then close them down and stop them breeding, then maybe wed get somewhere.also i blame the kennel club as well as they have a large part to play in this but tend to ignore their moral responsibilities.as long as the money from registrations keeps flowing into the coffers of clarges street theyll happily turn a blind eye to it

Completely agree with you Kris , and the wonderful` Accredited Breeders Scheme ` comes to mind too (w00t)

So many people think that if they are getting a pup from a AB they are getting quality pups ., NOT so , as my M-I-L could apply and get it

Completely agree, the KC Accredited Breeder Scheme is a farce and is misleading to the public who think choosing a KC Accredited Breeder is the responsible thing to do and implies some sort of standard. :(

I've lost count of the people I've spoken to who have bought puppies in what I would consider dubious circumstances who assure me that it must be OK and can't possibly be from a puppy farm because the pup is KC registered.

TBH I think the Kennel Club are the same as the breeders, both are seeing dollar signs at the sight of a litter of pups.

Hi I am new to the board but when I saw this post I wondered if any of you would be willing to help spread the word about puppy farming by printing off some posters or flyers to hand around at meets. If so please visit http://www.dogs-r-us.org/ thanks :)
