Good luck with the ops. It's always a worry. :luck:

If it's any reassurance, Fred had a lump removed from his hock and few months ago. He came through the op with no problems (he's 12). He was put on fluids throughout the op which is supposed to help apparently. The only slight worries were post op care. His foot swelled up quite badly so the bandage had to come off. Unfotunately he could just reach the re-dressed looser bandages, even with a lampshade on, so the stitches came out too a few days later and because the skin is so tight in that area the wound couldn't be restitched. I had to do daily bandage changes making sure he was all firmly taped up around the edges (luckily the OH is a paramedic) :- . If he wore a lampshade he just managed to scrape away any healing tissue with the edge of the plastic. In all it took six weeks of daily bandage changes for the wound to heal. Some Manuka honey did help to keep the wound healthy. I did try and let the wound 'air' once in a while, but I had to watch him like a hawk as he would lick at it constantly.

Hi thanks for that...i tend to put the buster collar on with a whippet collar behind it so the bucket can't slip backwards on the whippets neck...they're like flippin' giraffes

The lump on Badgers hock is spreading over a bigger area, it is now going round underneath as well as just on the side...can't wait until he's seen again and operated on now because I am starting to worry about the lump itself :s
