Yesterday my OH took the dogs on a smashing walk for a couple of hours which they thoroughly loved. However, I receive a text saying 'Lost coat and cut back on wire. Bailey ok, not bleeding but may need a stitch, 1.5 inch cut on back' attached with this picture below...........

We took Bailey to the vets straight away and they checked him all over, he now weighs 12.2kg!!! Anyway back to the point, they gave us the option of stitches if he is a show dog (apparently less of a scar) but he isn't so we had the choice between glueing the cut or having staples - the vet said the glue option she believed would work and I prefered that as less pain/stress and touch wood he is looking great - still all stuck together  He is now on antibiotics for 5 days.

Joys of whippets, they love the chase but forget they can easily get injured - bless them! :huggles:

Oh dear glad its nothing too serious

But mummy I was playing and it was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :- "

Oh no!!

Hope he is feeling ok this morning.

Austin send licks to heal his cut. :huggles:

Nothing too serious which is good news. Boy did he have fun!!! (w00t) He thinks he is a terrier half the time getting through the smallest of places, chasing everything that moves

I am very relaxed about these things, had all the panics with Rocky over the years! :- " Bailey is doing well, loving all the attention as usual :D Hope Austin is well :huggles:

Is he at work with you. (w00t)

Austin is well thanks. He is currently spending his time while I am at the yard, trying to work out how to destroy the car.

He eats all of his pigs ear and then goes round the car!!

I am off to petsmart at lunchtime to get him a kong to stuff with arsenic, cough, opps sorry, cheese!!

Goodness Bex - had the same happen to minty yesterday - poor little fellow - he ran off round the woods and didnt come back for half an hour - when he appeared he was minus his coat and has wounds to both inner thighs - i was so worried about him last night as he wouldnt eat his dinner but was clearly just worn out and apart from being a little stiff in the hind quarters is aok this morning thank goodness.

they just do not know when enough is enough do they!!!

:b

Poor little minty - is he ok? inner thighs - ouch! I always worry if they don't eat their dinner as mine are starving by the time they get in. Our boys are too alike (w00t) Luckily Dave found his coat! At least you know how to make coats but doesn't make it easier when Minty comes back naked  Rocky is the worst, since we got Bailey, Rocky now weighs 15.7kg which is great, but he never gives up even if his body is stiff and knackered - silly boy! He will learn that he is getting old one day  Lets hope our walks are better today :D

Oh dear! Wounds can be sutured so I would be more annoyed about losing the coat!!! Hopefully, some kind person will come across it and hang it in a prominent place, if you walk your dogs there regularly. That has happened to me in the past, for which I was very grateful!

I must admit in this weather like all whippets they need their coats and they love them  I would be a little upset if they lost them I must admit, but have two new ones on their way so they had better not lose them, they will look like twins!!!!! I will pad lock them on  only joking :- "

well - minty's on the mend thankfully having slept like a baby all morning - he will no doubt be ready for another blast again today when we go to see to the horses but i think he best stay home - he gave me quite a fright yesterday when he ran off and then hurt himself and i dont want him repeating his antics again so soon!

hopefully someone will hang up his coat but its a remote spot we go to - mabe the cows will oblige!

anyways - heres a pic of my babies i just took after they trashed the lounge before lunch to add some cheer!

coats wont be long bex!

xx

Glad Minty is taking it easy  if he is anything like my two then he will have forgotten about last night and ready for another blast! (w00t) Not surprised you were worried, if either of mine disappeared for half an hour I would be panicing, especially as its dark and cold!

:teehee: Now you didn't want to be sending me a pic of your gorgeous puppies  they are looking fantastic, I am sooooooooo tempted :) Have you decided which one you will be keeping? They have lovely markings and love the way they are all cuddled up :huggles:

Can't wait to see the coats, not long now :D thank you x
