Have just sent an e-mail to the Kennel club to ask what they propose to do about the huge entry at Bath.

I have been told that a judge cannot judge more than 250 dogs in one day, so will they have to appoint a second judge and split the sexes? If so, who's gonna be judging what.....?

Doubt if they will reply until after the weekend, but will let you all know if I hear anything.

Alternatively, if anyone hears any news, let us all know please.

Louise

They might leave it to one judge, as MAry Lowe is very experienced in the breed and judging, HOwever it might mean an 830 start !!

Its such a mammouth task for one judge, but also a huge complement

Berry was just one day too young, most annoying as I would love to have entered! Daisy had her first litter early ( 3 days) but waited this time till her due day. (w00t) She wanted Sunday children.

all the best are born on a Sunday :- " :huggles: and people too o:)

At an average of 2.1/2 minutes per dog (which I think is the KC recommendation), and not allowing for having any sort of break or even going to the loo, Mary will have to judge for nearly 12.1/2 hours to get through the entry. In order to get her BOB into the group, she will need to finish judging by about 4.30 - I will leave it for you to work out what time she will need to start (Dawn will break about 5 am at the end of May). Just hope the weather is fine as if we have to be in the wet weather tent, it will be a nightmare.

I know that Mary is a very experienced judge and will probably go much quicker than 2.1/2 minutes per dog, but it is a huge entry for anyone to undertake.

A terrific compliment to her though that so many people have entered.

Of course there are always a fair number who are absent for one thing or another  but still an awful lot for Mary to see , and as Im sure she will admit to , shes no `spring chicken `   :huggles:

This is the Bath show that will take place in the end of May, right? I might just miss it by a couple of weeks :( :( :(

Or maybe time to book some tickets fast ...

I think the Kennel Club will allow her to judge it. I remember a similar situation a few years ago. In that situation the KC said that they always assume a certain percentage of absentees and aske dthe show to make every effort to move things along as quickly as possible (ie early start, make sure class 2 is lined up and waiting while the judge is doing the critique on Class 1, quick bite to eat at the table rather than going off for a full-blown lunch etc etc)

Does anyone have the results?
