Due to a leak at the weekend (not funny and a long story!) we are redecorating our bathroom.

At the moment it is completely white. I would like some colour, but to still keep it light without feeling cold. It is quite a small room.

Has anyone got any colour ideas? I am not creative at all!

Do you like blues....how about pale blue or turquoise......mines turquoise :)

with coloured mosaic bluey tiles...

or if you are into fawns..how about a pale biscuit colour/fawn with matching dark brown coloured towels....and accessories...

my downstairs loo is a pale terracotta shade with cream accessories...its a very warm feeling. :)

whats the light like? made the mistake of painting mine green before, looked lovely in sunlight, BUT with artificial light... :x it soooo had to go

some soft shades of lilac can look lovely, though i prefer gold accessories to chrome as gold can add a bit of warmth.

just for the love of god, always remember vinyl NOT matt :D

Keep it white and change accessories, that way you get a new look whenever you get bored. That's what I did with mine. :)

mmm,im not into colour, my bathroom is totally white, i like the clean feeling it gives :)

but if its colour your after how about a beige colour??

i like the natural look, my whole house is white/beige/cream and brown........sorry not much help there

Good luck with finding the right colour...............im slowly going

nuts i had to go and have a look what colours mine was just now :b

im in the process of having a new bathroom in . ive gone for pale cream tiles with a few patterned to match in cream and gold just to add a little intrest .

they are all sat in boxes mind but im hoping it will look good :- " (w00t)

just need to find a plumber that dosent charge more than the bathroon suite cost (w00t)

cant beat lemon and white, gives it a clean and fresh look.. 8)

I agree with gutsey, lemon and white :D When we moved into this house the bathroom was half white tiles, half yellow paper. It was really nice but me being me 'fancied a change'. I papered it blue and I don't really like it at all now so I'm going to go back to yellow

you can say that again, the quotes for my 'small' bathroom, everything replaced, plastered and tiled all over are £7-9K.......I want someone to wash and dry me as well for that (w00t)

I'm thinking of re-training as a plumber, £300 labour a day for fitting bathrooms, will get some nice holidays out of that job

while we're on about bathrooms, has anyone had chrome plated taps from internet at a fraction of the shop price, and have they been good quality ?

all the plumbers I ask say chrome is chrome whether they claim to have dipped the brass once of twice, as long as you get 1/4 turn ceramic discs, you're ok.

There is a new gold colour out now.Not real gold, but the colour is similar. It is warm, and come's in mid shene, and ideal for bathroom's.It will go with any colour of fitting's and look's great against a white ceiling and woodwork.I can get a pic of the last one i did,but not till friday. As for a plumber.Get a good DIY book, and do you're own.You dont need copper piping anymore,as plastic piping is the in thing, and with simple push together joint's,that (WILL NOT LEAK),anyone can do it.You just have to cut you're length's with a hacksaw,or good stanley knife. It will bend easily around anything, and can stand very xtreme temperature's,way above boiling.Worth checking out, before you let one of those con men, into you're home.believe me they can clean more than you're pipe's.Forgot to mention that the plastic joint's will also fit directly to any existing copper pipe's that may be there, from old suite. ...Billy...

I disagree with that...our bathroom is blue and white with gold fittings and it is a lovely clean, beachy feel...I love a blue bathroom.

Incidently our dining room is blue too,we have two opposite walls painted a pale blue (we have used original victorian colors throughout our home as I just love that period!) and the other two walls are papered with a blue and white original victorian design paper and it certainly is'nt cold looking at all. :D

Let us know what you finally decide to go for madbella...I am intrigued now! :p

Mines a whippety fawn colour which is warm but not too dark. Accessoried with gold fititngs etc.and soft cream bath, shower , sink, etc Looks lovely but am getting abit bored now cause been like that for few yrs :- "

Wow! Thanks for all the replies!!

At the moment it is mainly white with the odd blue tiles and blue accessories.

So I am hoping to try something different.

I don't think OH will go for lilac, I have a thing for purple and if I ask for another thing in purple he may give up!!

I quite like the beige idea.

Whippet fawn is good too!!

And cream!

I like the idea of gold accessories, I normally go for silver/chrome. But will that work if I have silver/chrome taps, I don't like gold taps.

And I am really lucky in that my brother in law does this sort of thing for a living (plumbing, plastering, tiling etc) so he is doing it for us.

My bathroom, 13 yrs old, has soft cream suite, I still love the sink and toilet shape and my tiles, but it is dated, been to tons of bathroom shops and have about 30 brochures on my coffee table, the new stuff is gorgeous......99.99999% all white.

yes you can have chrome taps with gold accessories, I've got them (small gold ring around tap handle ) and they look nice together.

got my suite in before they invented the P shaped shower baths and had bath tiled in 1/2 a tile away from the wall to allow more elbow room, didn't heed plumbers advice about water collecting on the tiles, didn't want an ugly drain hole connecting to bath outflow, said we'd vigilantly sponge up xs water, but then got a CHILD :- "

several leaks to kitchen below and here I am looking for a new suite to be plumbed in

good luck with yours :luck:

I'd definitely stick to white for the hardware (sink bath toilet etc) because it doesn't date, and a white ceiling too, but use warm creams and biscuit tones in the tiles and an ivory/off-white for the walls. We did our bathroom like that recently and it looks lovely, warm but clean.

The only thing I regret is not splashing out on underfloor heating :sweating: I would LOVE that

Same here o5 whippet.I have a cream bathroom suite....and shower,

pale turquoise walls above and mosaic blues below....my accesssories are pine....gold taps etc,

It dosnt feel cold in the slightest, but mind you my bathroom is about 11ft x 13 ft..

and has a fireplace too and is carpeted, no no cold feet.... :)

my house dates back to the 1800's too so I think that room would look too clinical all white... Im not into anything too modern...

Madbella Id go for exactly what you really like yourself....dont follow trends...
