For christmas Ben has had OH's yamaha TZR50 motorbike. He had it 2 weeks ago. He's been riding a scooter since he was 16 back in april. Well one the way home from college on tueday he fell off.

Now he has is arm in plaster and the bike has been into the bike shop to be assesed. He hasn't broken his arm but the xrays showed cracks in his wrist. The doctors at the hospital were not sure if they were growth cracks because of his age or fractures so they put a temporay cast on for 10 days. It will be taken of on thursday and hopefully they will leave it of.

The bike not thats a different story. The shops report on the damage is it is going to cost £1800 to get it back to how it was 2 weeks ago which was in mint condition. It is 6 years old and had 800 miles on the clock. It is insured for £1500 so it would be an insurance write of. The shop did say the damage is all cosmetic the frame and wheels and everything else are fine and it is safe to ride so OH is going to make the damage as good as he can as the chances are Ben being Ben will fall of again before the end of the winter.

Can you get stabalisers for motorbikes :clown: :clown: :D :D :D

Oh god these blooming Boys will be boys and all that.....anyway so glad hes not too badly hurt though. (although I know the arm sounds bad enough)

My son does downhill mountain biking...thats bad enough.....hate the thoughts of him coming off his bike ...never mind a motor bike.

Dont these things cost a fortune to put right....the metal things thats is...

Apparently it is quite a rare bike which is why its costing so much you just can't get the none genuine parts for it. They have to be ordered from Yamaha itself. We already know it is the only one in Staffordshire which is why OH wanted it to be put back to how it was.

The silly thing is last sunday an identical bike sold for £250 on ebay usually they are over £1000. Just a new exhaust for Ben's bike is £550.

omg, poor lad, yep, boys will be boys !

re his 'crack/growth plate'

where did he have his x-ray, a proper radiologist should know the difference! sometimes they have to wait a week and re-xray to see if there's any callous growth, then it's a fracture....good luck !

He was xrayed at the xray department at the A&E. They took about 10 xrays as he couldn't move his arm and they strugled to see what was going on. He has the plaster removed on thursday and rexrayed then hopefully it will say is is just a growth crack.

Well Ben's been to the hospital again today the goo news is there are no broken bones. The bad news is he has torn all the tendons in his thumb so now has a proper cast on a gauntlet one so still can't get on his motorbike again :(
