I've got Ernie schooled and ready to go on the Bends which he seems to prefer as its a longer distance.

What is a good time? Or how many seconds do you take off comparing to Greyhounds. Took him Gretna last night with a distance of 280m so what time would be a 'good' time?

The time can vary on different tracks, a good whippetxgreyhound

will break 16 seconds at Highgate. what time did your dog do at Gretna.

Well grading time for Greyhounds is 18secs. Just wondered what you take off/ add on for Whippets? A good time at Gretna is 17.50 - 17.70.

A DECENT WHIPPET WILL DO THE GRADING TIME

OR UNDER AT MOST GREYHOUND TRACKS

NON PED ONE ANY WAY ;)

The bigger non peds ( 30lb +) will do grade time to win open races. The better scratch dogs will often be able to beat grade time by several yards.

To be fair some of the no limit dogs should be running grade time as they are effectively greyhounds anyway.

( lights fuse and stands back :) )

ssssssssssssssssssssssSSSSSSSSSSSSSS---------BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM !!!

Which dogs was that then?

The only no limit dog I have ever had is Jack 7 and he doesn't have ghd as a parent. All my other dogs have run in weight limited races.

Some no limit scratch dogs would be entitled to be called a ghd under 3 generation pedigree rules

soapy joe ran in some no limit races but was still a 40lb dog and as you say was a half cross unlike some of the 7/8 ghd running in the no limit

What sort of time is Ernie doing Dee? You'll have to have a ride over to Wessie when we start back.

yes tony i agree but these dogs never run the straights and i heard they race with greyhounds, there was a rule years ago if big dogs off the whippet tracks raced with greyhounds they were band do not know wot happened to that rule maybe out the window like most of them lol

Which 7/8 no limiters are these then tony
