Day 2 of trying to take action shots. I decide to take a selection of my dogs. Whizz, Woody, Bean and the BHT and go on my own so Alan and his legs don't keep getting in the way of the photos.

In the first field there is a mown path and most of the field is left long. So only bum shots of dogs. :( In the next field it has all been cut for hay and they hunt bunnies in this field. So I make for the field where they normally race around. I stand in the middle of it and..................... they stand around me looking up at me. After a few mins of this inactivity Tally starts to whinge and my legs and back are starting to ache, so I decide to try sitting down. Hmmmmm.......... all but Whizz decides to lie down with me.

So close to abandoning the 'taking photographs' idea I get up and tell the dogs firmly to go away and point towards the long grass and the river.

A BHT having been told to go away is upset and is doing an eeore impression. I am a bad BHT owner and he's very misunderstood. Oh just go away I said and pointed again.

Be like that then and he slopes off with his mate Whizz.

Nearly there and yes he does have a piece of dried grass clinging to his right thigh. (tut's thinks BHT's are like compost heaps on legs :b )

So now I can see this because if they are anything at all BHT's are very, very awkward sorts.

One last attempt at a BHT action shot. I called him and he thought my mum  wants me and this happened. (w00t)

If Dessie and Strike Whippets see this they'll be thinking (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) - stripping knife. I'm thinking it's a Yettie.

He's been eating grass I see. :b

A size comparison. Woody and Tally back lit.

And a back lit side shot hopefully proving that he is deerhound NOT a yettie.

Great pix, well worth the effort.

What brilliant photos, well worth the wait. Did wonder if Tally put on the brakes before he got to you (w00t)

Thanks folks for the nice comments.

Leslie he folds up very small. He sits in between me and Alan on the 3 seater sofa but we really need a 4 setter for him to be properly comfy.

Mmmmmn divine shots Barbara, they are all fantastic. I think the camera was a good buy

Awwww Tally!!!!

Thanks Barb  Gave me a right laugh this thread!

BHT is gorgeous, I so want a cuddle! He reminds me of a kids cartoon I used to watch called 'what a mess' I think that was an afghan with complimentry bits of grass / soil /etc!

Lovely piks, my fave is him leaping, he looks so happy as opposed to his Eeyore impression!

Whizz? What this pink and blue coloured dog cantering back to me in the hope of food who can never fly his ears. The camera doesn't lie. (Sobs this is the only whippet that I have that I thought couldn't fly 'em.)

Super pic's Beej, i can't believe how good they are considering your still fiddling with the camera - really clear, well done.

Gorgeous dogs btw - where's Jest though? :(

Yes he's just like that. I should have called him Stig (of the Dump) instead of Talisman.

First time I've ever seen him jump anything. He don't normally. Normally he would just go around things. Lucky that the camera worked at that time. My old one wouldn't have managed it.

Jest is sleeping as per normal Vicky. :D The camera will be at Maidstone on Sunday. Whether we'll get any dogs running in shot I don't know. But we'll get some portrait type photos I hope.

BeeJay - you and that camera was a match made in heaven! Enjoy your pictures tremendously!!!

Re ears, that is only gravity :D
