no it wasnt a long way does it realy matter what type of show or how far it was what matters is katie won she beat 11 dogs in her class also katie hasent long come off her pups

the other reason i went to birmingham was to see a puppy i bred as the people are going to show her the puppy looks a realy nice prospect

Who was the judge please? Any results yet?

What do you consider "a long way" to go to a show in England? We drive 4 hrs to shows here in Nth Qld, Aust, on a regular basis. We have to if we want to get enough shows in for the year.

Well done on your BOB Liza and Katie.

A limit show Lana ,is for new pups , and basicall y a training ground for youngsters and judges . No rcc . or cc winners can attend Very few have breed classes if at all , so its mainly all av s terrier , toy ect , bred by owner . you know that kind of thing

on a scale of shows we have

Champ shows , Open and Limit , then companion shows :p

Thanks Jax, yeah, I pretty much have the gist of the show types now. I just didn't think this person needed to justify how far she went to a show, no matter what kind.

Can't people just be nice and say 'good on you' instead of making a comment that seems to insinuate that she drove "all that way" for a "minor win".

As it turns out she was going to visit a puppy and thought that she may as well enter a show while she was there - but did the rest of the world have to know that? - but she felt she had to say it because of what the comment implied.

I just like to make it clear too - I don't know either "scuddles" or "liza" and I don't know what intricacies exist between those two people, if any at all - I'm just responding to what I saw on the screen.

Very good post Lana. In years gone by we used to travel long distances to smaller shows, my dad and I once went to a show in Aberystwyth from Lancashire, our reason for going was that he had always wanted to go to Aberystwyth. I can't remember if we won anything but the society gave us a commemorative plate because we had travelled so far which still hangs on our office wall. That must have been in the 1960's.

I don't know who Scuddles is either!, perhaps you would like to tell us a little bit about yourself and your dogs

Jenny

I used to travel to breed club limit shows, can't afford the diesel now. I would think twice about that particular trip too unless it was a breed club show and a judge I particularly admired and wanted their opinion of my dog.
