I have exactly the same problem with Bluebell, and she's created a problem in Daisy too - who has been fine for 10 years, but now thinks that there may be a problem!

Blue has to be led on, it takes two, and is a nightmare, she won't come near me when I'm sitting down!

hers need to be done fortnightly too

Let me know how you get on Hely :huggles:

My girls are reading this and grinning from ear to ear

They know all the tricks that are tried to get them nails..........

Jane you sound like an all in wrestler there

well i done my lot this afternoon and as i said grace is the only cow bag :- " ....she screams out before i even put the clippers near her....

today i did manage to do them without dads help, but i do think the fact that i cut them weekly helps, and as jane said i dont cut them back to far......ive gone for the "tough love" way with grace, as she is just being silly and it needs to be done.....then a treat each at the end soon wins her round

just keep going for little and often

Thanks guys

I have been given some fantasic advice from Debs (Alfyn) on the phone earlier............i have not long finished telling robert all about it, and we are both agreed that it is the way to go with the little monster :)

so hopefully a battle at clipping time will soon be a thing of the past :luck:

Thankyou so much Debs :huggles:

Hang the little sweeties! - from a weighing harness.

Louanne

Be great if you could share your pearl of wisdom hely, as I think we have quite possibly the worst whippet ever when it comes to nails, in Holly.

Everyone elses sound like angels in comparison to her and she is passing it on to Diego now, by hurtling off even at the sight of the clippers. :(

We have the same problem with Sidney and do the one the back between our legs and then try to do them but he will scream (w00t) and then chew on who ever is closest.

Ben takes it in his stride and is fine :- "

I think it would take to long to write it all down rach, but Debs was very kind in letting me ring her and talked me through what she did and judging by the conversation we had..she would have had to write a essay (w00t) ..........sounds like the way to go though..........

Devon isn't a fan of nail cutting either, I just snip tiny bits off every few days, he doesn't have the shortest nails in the world :- "

The girls are only tiny and have longer toes than the whippets, with slim nails on, they are nice and easy :D

And as for Monty . . . he loves being in the middle of things, when the others start trying to look invisible, he pushes them out the way so he can be first

Hope Debs advice works, it certainly sounds like you have a challenge on your hands, good luck! :luck:
