Hi,
I have a spayed female about 5 years old who seems to need to urinate a couple of times during the night. There's quite a lot of it. My unspayed boy, on the other hand can easily go through the night without needing to 'go'.
It seems to have gotten worse in the last year or so, she used to be ok with sleeping all thru the night. Then it went from one nightly 'pee' and now sometimes it's two. I also think there maybe some slight leakage, a few drops from the way my boy sniffs places she's been lying.
I think it's the same in human females, I know I often have to get up to go to the toilet during the night!
Any ideas?
I don't have a dog door as I don't have a fenced yard - I'm on a small acreage, don't like the idea of the dogs being able to run around chasing wallabies and rabbits at night, it's uneven ground and snakes etc, so she goes on the lino in the kitchen. I just wonder why there's so much of it compared to the boy, she does chase a lot more rabbits (he's more timid about chasing things, just likes a bit of a run) and she also seems to get hot very quickly, so she drinks more than the boy.
