If you are looking for a true family dog then look no further, Blue is your man. He is a gentle, affectionate, fun and active dog who loves to be at the centre of a busy family. He is fantastic with children and loves their company. He can be rehomed with children over the age of 5 years.

Blue came in to our care via a local vet practise after he was hit by a car. His previous owners could not afford the treatment to repair his leg and the vets were wonderful, fixed him at their own expense and one of the nurses fostered him at her home. His leg was pinned and has recovered well. Blue has now moved to one of our foster homes where he is living with another lurcher. They get along very well and Blue would love canine company in his new home. He could also be rehomed as the only dog if he had plenty of human company to keep him entertained.

Blue can get over excited when he sees new dogs out on walks and bounce around. He is a friendly and social dog and this is not something we want to change, however, his foster family are working on helping him to be calmer when he first sees and greets other dogs.

With his canine foster brother he can grumble if he has a chew or a toy and Cody approaches him. However, he does not do this with people passing him and would share items happily with the human members of the family.

He has not been tested with cats but he does have a strong chase drive for squirrels etc. so we feel it would be best to rehome him without cats.

Blue is house trained and can be left without fuss when his foster family have to go out. He has always had canine company when he has been left so far and has not been completely alone. Around the house he has lovely manners and will wait to be told to eat when his bowl is put down. He will have a cheeky counter surf every now and again like most lurchers so food needs to be stored away when no one is in the kitchen to supervise Blue. He likes to have toys he can access, chew and bones etc as he does like a good chomp on something if he is having some down time.
