Hi, I have a 7 month old whippet who as yet has not been left. However my husband & I will soon be thinking of booking a holiday so we need to start looking into boarding facilities in our area.

Does anyone know of a good kennels in Essex (we are near Upminster) that would suit a totally spoilt, pampered whippet. Or ideally perhaps someone that boards dogs in their own home??

I absolutely hate the idea of putting him in kennels and i'm not totally convinced I can bring myself to do it but i'm prepared to check some out and look into the best options available. My husbands parents have offered to have him but we're worried as they live on a really busy main road and they're not used to having a dog around so might be forgetful with the door. Also I know he wouldn't get sufficient exercise with them (if any at all).

The best solution would be a pet/home sitter but they're too pricey for us. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks Jill

you could ask around at your local vets? they may be of some help with either pet sitters/ in house help or boarding kennels? hope thats of some help to you/

please could we have a puppy fix and see a pic of your boy????!!!!

Thanks for the info. I've tried to download a pic before but wasn't able to do it. Will see if hubby can help when he gets in later.
