i read `born to run` today and thought it was pretty good although i did think it was a shame it was aimed at a younger audience...the plot of the book was great however i think if it had been written with a older audience with alot more detail regarding what the dog actually when though etc i think it would have been miles better

does anyone know if anyother greyhound/whippet book along similar lines of `born to run`? i would love to read some more...it nearly made me cry

i bought it for my daughter last christmas , i did read it before i wrapped it up :- " loved it :D cant think off hand of anything similar though :(

Pleased you enjoyed Michael Morpurgo's book, 'Born to Run' I find it a brilliant access book when developing social awareness in youngsters - his career is very interesting and he and his wife developed the charity, Farms for City Children, which can never be underestimated in its power for developing awareness in the ten of thousands of children who have taken part in the scheme.

I think he's a brilliant writer - if anyone can read 'Private Peaceful' without tearing the heart, then I fear that, sadly they don't have one!

I'm sure others will recommend books which may appeal in the running dog genre.

As far as I am aware Michael Morpurgo is a childrens author. I read the book when it came out and enjoyed it for what it was.

I loved Born to Run. I didn't realise it was a children's book when I bought it for myself as a birthday present this year. I loved it! It was moving and wonderful for children and adults, Juney had my copy after, I think she liked it too!
