Cobyco careless love went reserve best in show

This was Boston's first ch show(unfortunately no cc's for whippets) & all i can say is it was brilliant! Newark showground was completely transformed from the usual dreary place into a really super venue,& whippets were lucky enough to have half of the best in show ring with green carpet!

Well done to the very hard working committe for making this such a memorable show

Well done Debs and Bailey - not surprised it was a memorable day for you  What a great start to the year :)

I see Montee made an appearance and got a second, so well done to him too.

also, Dawn's insect  not sure which of them it was with a 2nd!

Well done to all K9ers

Yep it was quite an enjoyable show except for the chill factor which affected some of the exhibits even though whippets were on the green carpet. Although the society arranged for extra heaters the heaters didn't seem to be all that efficient.

I understand that this will be better next year.

For those who know Newark but weren't there - WHY NOT? :p - the usual halls were all through as one with the boarded walls removed. Benching was in all halls near to respective rings. There were also rings in the Lady Eastwood hall (with benching) and a marquee linking the two sets of halls together so no-one would have gotten wet walking between the halls. The only rain risk was the short trot to the closets.

The car-parking was stewarded and all cars were checked on exit for dogs and exit passes.

A well organised show - hope next years is as good.

Congratualtions to Pat; Alayna and all the committee of Boston CS

BTW The insect in question was Spider who also was 5th in the Pro-Plan Purina puppy stakes which had an entry of 43.

Any White and black ones?

Any Photos of them stacked at six weeks?

Any photos of mucky tops being worn when handling puppies?

I'm just waiting for the white one to be born, she is taking a while to "pop out". (w00t) . Mark has a nice pink spotted top now, he was holding them whilst I wormed them!

well done Debs and Bailey  and all k9ers that got placed

 Yes it did get a bit cold.

Over the 2 days, I didn't hear one bad comment, observations made about the heating were spot on but everyone appreciated the fact that those awful blowers weren't there.

I think the shopping mall that was created was a superb idea and ensured that there was a good link between the Lady Eastwood hall and the barns.

The organisation behind the scenes preparing for the show was tremendous. Maurice and I stewarded on both days and were honoured to have been given the BIS ring (I even put on me sparkly top and evening skirt for BIS - thank goodness Richard Mason missed that for photographs!).

 Everything we needed was there provided for us, no running around to get this or that which is what you get at a lot of champ shows. Often at shows, once judging has started the fact that you get thirsty is forgotten, but not at Boston, drinks were served as often as you wanted them and then there was lunch.

It was not the usual caterers as for open shows at Newark and my word, what a difference. It was superb and they were so friendly, the food cooked to perfection and it didn't matter if you were late for lunch, they were still open and the quality of food was still as good as if you had been first to lunch, no paper table cloths either, proper white linen and each place set and reset as required with wine on each table. I hope Newark Ag Society takes note when the food franchise is up for grabs at the Open Shows.

I think it will become of one of those must go to Champ Shows for both exhibitors and stewards. Maurice was mightily impressed with his lunch on both days.

I'm just looking forward to next years show and think that Boston Champ show is going to give older more established Champ shows a good run for their money.

One of the best touches was that the committee members such as Ray as Treasurer, Alayna's fiance as Chief Steward (think I mean Gary or is it Darren, sorry Alayna, don't mean to be disrespectful), the Show Manager etc all were dressed in evening wear which meant they were easily recognisable as show officials.

On both days champagne and nibbles were provided at the ringside just before the BIS selections with a birthday cake being cut by Gerald Mitchell, BIS judge, Rosemary Smart, Kennel Club, and the lady on the committee who had made it.

BIS show was rounded off by the Basenjis and Lynn going RBIS, BPIS was the Chow Chow, which was stunning and also won the Purina/Dog World Pup of the Year Stakes overall, RBPIS was the Shih Tzu.

There is only one report that can be gained from the Field Officer, as I see it, and that's EXCELLENT.

sounds a lovely day , glad it went well and count me in for next year

WOW Jan thats a great review, makes me want to enter next year!

Great result for Bailey & Debs - really well done and to everyone else too :D

Congratulations Boston and all the committee! I'm not surprised that it was such a success, they have an amazingly hard working team.

A Great Big WELL DONE to one and all, especially on your excellent report from the field officer.

Cathie

 Well done Debs and Bailey

And all k9er's

 Well done Debs and Bailey , Lynn and everyone that did well

To organise a Championship show from scratch takes some planning , and what a great job they did ,

Ive not heard one complaint apart from i`ts cold ` and for some one who went to Hound Ass of Scotland for the last 2 years believe me THAT it was not cold on Saturday :- " As a seasoned Newark shower , I had my long johns on (w00t) , and extra tops (w00t) plus good think soles to my shoes .

An excellent day and Montee enjoyed coming out of retiremnet so much he even jumped back onto the table on his way out of the ring

Well done to Lynn with Heidis sister  and of course Debs with the handsome Bailey to  :huggles:
