I have got a 9 week old Boston puppy and I was given pedigree wet food .
On the pouches it says 4 100g pouches per day . It sounds a lot can anyone give me some advice on this and also the best food going forward. Also do you recon I should use a mixer and if so what sort.

Hi cobra, welcome to the site, not sure on the food front but most will say go raw, so tell me is a Boston terrier from Lincolnshire or Boston USA as I know nothing about these dogs hehe

Can you post a photo of the label?

Also - Pedigree isn't great quality food. Is it chunks in jelly too? Because if so, that makes it even less nutritious because of high water content.

Keep him on the same food as the breeder for a few weeks but once he is settled you might want to look for something better quality. If you would like any pointers, shout out.

She looks really sweet. Are you able to do a photo.of the feeding guide on the pouch? And do you know her current weight?

Packet information is only a guide. A better guide is how the dog looks and feels. Too thin: feed more. Too fat: feed less. As long as we feed good quality food, that's all there is to it.

Wet or dry is down to your preference, there are good and bad in both types. Dry has the advantage of being easy to store, less bulky etc. but it's very much down to preference.

Have a look at www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk

It is an independent dog food comparison website which scores all types of foods (dry, raw, wet) out of 100. You can set filters for your dog's breed, weight, age etc. and for your daily budget; then you can add in any specific needs you have such as aiming for weight loss or avoiding specific ingredients. The website will automatically show the foods listed in order of what the assessors believe is best quality, and it also will show daily feeding cost (calculated from your dog's age and weight) so you can see what gives you best value for money. It has its limitations but it's a decent place to start.
