ok guys i need ur advice on this

on thursday dana started with stomach pains (unable to sit or lie in one possition) so i took her the vets. she was given an anitbiotic injection and one for her stomache cramps, the vet said she had a bug. i was told to take her back the following day for the same agian and was also given a 5 day course of Nsamox (200 amoxicillin 50 clavulanic acid). now after the first injection she really picked up and has been doing well, she has been eating and going the loo fine untill yesterday (monday). since then she aint had a poo! she has eaten and is doing some proper smelly boffs but has shown no signs of wanting a poo.

do u think its the antibiotics or somthing else? im at a loss here guys any advice would be great. thanks dana

Could she have a blockage?? Did the vet have a good feel of her tummy when you took her??

I've not know anti-b's bung dogs up, it usually goes the other way if anything.

If she's not had a poo I'd personally phone the vet and ask their advise.

I hope she's ok soon. :luck:

thanks helly

the vet did have a good feel cos i was concerened about a blockage too and said she couldnt feel anything. she has done this to me before and not had a poo for a day, ive just given her a bowl of chicken to see if it will get her moving cos she has been on short rashions latley cos of the bug.

Fingers crossed she goes soon.

If not I'd give the vet a quick phone call.

Bit of raw beef liver gets thing usually moving. But be carefull not to give too much or you may spend all night running out with her :x

lol nice, i think ive got some in the freezer i will give it a go im not sure she will eat it raw though she is very fussy.

thanks love

right just had her back up the vets and she has had a good poke around and cant feel anything. her temp is still abit high but she thinks that dana just needs to let the poo build back up  we r to give it another day and if she aint had one by then take her back again :))

dogs! who would have them :D

my friends jack russel used to have problems going a number 2 from time to time,

she used to give her a little syrup of figs, that used to do the trick.

it natural so i wouldnt think it can do any harm  ?????

thanks hun

would i be able to get that from a supermarked or health shop? i keep some in for her.

liver will usually do the same thing dana.and its a natural laxative too.maybe shes just been a bit bunged up or hassnt eaten much lately so theres nothing there for her to go?hope little one is better soon.hugs from me and razzle :huggles:
