omg this is awful! if youve bred an animal, you are responsible and therefore owe it to that animal to do what is right should it fall on hard times. ive had to recover one of my pups because the new owner kept the poor girl in a dark shed covered in dog mess, no light, and judging by the bowing of her legs and the general state, no damn food either. i hasten to add that the owners house was beautifully kept, and while we were vetting her etc NO alarm bells were going off, i only found out a couple of months later through a mutual friend what was going on. and as for getting rid of ex breeding stock, wtf? by that time surely the animals are as much a part of your family as the human members, and so they too deserve a loving til the end home. i'd sooner part with all my limbs than even contemplate getting rid of any of my dogs :(
