Breeding Bitches

so glad you came thought it and stiid up for yourself it must have been horrendus for you. I think you are wonderfull letting us all know about it

Kris what a horrendous time you had,I've just received info from my Local Authority which sort of defines domestic breeder and non domestic breeder but only talks about 2 breeding bitches not how many litters, it all seems to be a total minefield and is left to the local authority to interpret.

Thankyou for sharing Kris what a terriable time for you and your family, there really are some f*****g idiots out there

I cant imagine how `wound up ` you must have got over the court case , What some people will do

I dont blame you for giving it all up , but then `they` have won havnt they  .

Good on yer girl for standing up to the B:rant:  D

What an awful experience for you and your family to go through :( glad you won :)

Julie

it was a horrendous experience, the council sent me a letter a few days before we were due in court saying theyd had a complaint about noise and they were going to prosecute me for this also.i phoned my solicitor and he rang the council up and asked who had actually complained about my dogs.they replied that they didnt have to tell him who had complained.he told them oh yes you do cos i can cross examine them in court.he also told them that as i only had 2 neighbours he had taken the precaution of getting them to swear an affidavit saying that at no time have they ever had any complaints about my dogs.they hung up the phone on him. (told you he was clever!) he rang me back and said dont worry theyre just doing this to threaten and scare you into pleading guilty cos they dont have a case against you.what i havent told you all about was how the stress and worry of this affected our family.the thought that we would lose all our dogs (some of which were 14 years old)was a terrifying situation and i ended up on anti depressants for years because of it.to say nothing of the toll it took on my family.the showing game was the last thing i wanted to carry on with after what wed been through.a lot of the folk who knew us and knew what we went through sent this guy to coventry and i know some of them to this day wont talk to him.it wasnt just the success at the show game that made him do this to us.we had found out that he was taking in rescue dogs and pretending to be from the breed rescue organisation, then selling dogs on with false papers.because we spoke to a guy who he had taken pups from and pretended to him that he was from the breed rescue,we asked the guy if we brought a prosecution against him if he would witness to how this guy pretended to be a rescue coordinator, and he said he would.this man was an ex policeman so he obviously knew the law and knew what he could do,the witness told us that the man who pretended to be from breed rescue also told him he was a chief of police! (w00t) .so we rang the breed rescue up and told them.they knew all about him,he had been a cordinator for them years previously and when they found out what was going on they threw him out and told him to give them their official rescue i.d. badge back but he never returned it.when i told the local coordinator what he had been up to he told me if we would prosecute him they would give us all their information on him but they couldnt prosecute cos they couldnt spend rescue funds doing so as folk donated to rescue to help animals not to bring prosecutions.when he found out what was going on thats when he reported me for not having a breeders licence. :( can i just say thankyou to everyone here for all your lovely supportive messages.cant tell you what it means to me.i wouldnt wish what we went through on my worst enemy. all my life had been spent with my dogs and the thought of losing them drove me to absolute despair. :(

I know its too late to go to there papers about thios but you could allways wright a book about it. Even if you dont have it publishes i am sure righting it down might help you with what happend and events are wrighen down then incase this moron trys to do something to someone else

It's a shame councils and such aren't as eager to react and deal situations of cruelty and neglect these people get away with it while the innocent are persecuted

kris, you are amazing. i applaud you. to withstand everything thrown at you, and come out of it headheld high...wow! so many people crack under less pressure. i'm truly sorry that it ruined showing for you. but your story and court case really could help define the law. if not in a book, maybe a dog magazine? taking this to the public eye, getting the media involved, may help others in your situation. if opening your heart could prevent the persecution of someone, i'm sure it would help make up for the way that man destroyed your way of life.

its no wonder your daughter adores you.

 WOW - what a thing to have gone through, just because some idiot was jealous of your success. How brave of you to fight him all the way

What a shame `we` at K9 were not around then :( We could have given you loads of support , I certainly cant imagine what you went through ,

I had a problem with one of my neighbours ( When I was single ) who continually complained to the council that my dogs were always barking (w00t) . They wern`t , but it was his way of getting back at me because Id complained to him about his children throwing stones at my greenhouse and for being cheeky.

The thought of losing my dogs made me ill too , and I used to lay awake all night listening for them to bark , I even put in a baby monitor . One day the lady from the council popped round and I was gardening and didnt hear her call. I found the note shed left and quickly rang her , I said ` I have all my dogs loose in the garden with me and even though you rang the bell they STILL didnt bark ." I mentioned the greenhouse incident too . She assured me not to worry , easier said than done though :(

Since Phil moved in Ive had no trouble from the neighbour at all . :- " It was very stressfull to have to deal with on my own , I wish ID had K9 at that time . Even now , if I hear a dog bark in the night I get a sick feeling in my stomach.......and I was on holiday abroad when it happened once too  It took me a few minuits to realise it couldnt possibly be one of mine

Sorry to bore you with my story , cos it dosnt compare to what you went through :huggles:

Both your's and Kris experience just goes to show how petty and small minded people can be when jealousy and anger take over, with no regard to the lives of the people involved, these people just relaliate without even considering the consequence they might be inflicting of people turning their lives upside down, I think it is so sad and I am glad you and Kris came out the other end the winners :huggles:

yes it does hun, especially cos you were alone.at least i had my hubs and daughter to help.when i got the letter saying theyd were going to take action against me for noise i was panic stricken,so i know what you went through.i havent gone into great detail about everything else that happened to us in those 2 years we waited to go to court,as its still too traumatic to speak about.suffice it to say,ill never forget it ,but the thing i remember most was the feeling i had nothing to live for anymore and that without my dogs i didnt want to live.i was so depressed and down i couldnt think straight.(and anyone who knows me will tell you thats not like me im usually a happy go lucky person, but this affected me in a terrible way.i had visions of losing the case and the council coming to take my dogs away from me. :( however im a great believer in every cloud having a silver lining and things changed after this that wouldnt have changed if it didnt happen.looking back now, things came out of this that were for the benefit of me and my family although of course i couldnt see that at the time.im a MUCH stronger person for having gone through all this and it changed me for the better in a lot of ways.and yes,i do so wish k9 had been around at the time as i needed every bit of support i could get. :huggles: i did have a lot of good friends who helped me and were always there for me to cry on their shoulders and i dont know what id have done without them.i think a lot of the time we take good friends for granted, but its only when we are in trouble that we realise how important they are.

I think if it dosnt bring back to much stress you should definatly write about this Kris, may i ask what breed you were showing?

dobermanns,id shown them at the time this happened for nearly 20 years.i dont think anyone would be interested in a book about a sad middle aged woman whose life revolved around dogs! ;) if anyone ever had any trouble with a local council though id be only too willing to offer any help or advice i could.

How right you are about that , When I went to buy a `baby monitor` I got talking to the shop manager about my `problem , and It came out that I was also having hassle where I was working :( I came out of the store with the promise of a job should I want it :)) , The following Monday i went to work with my notice in my bag and was going to hand it in at the end of the day , But during the days work , the boss invited me into the office and offered me voluntryy redundancy (w00t) . Surprisilngly I accepted it :- " and started my new job the following Monday ;) , plus having £1,500.00 in the bank

Now if the neighbour hadnt complained I would have been out of work

But should any of us get any hassle , Im sure we will come to you for advice :huggles: :huggles:

thats a great story jax and just goes to prove what i said.at the time we think nothing worse could happen and its the end of the world(well maybe not as bad as that but pretty close!lol! :D )then hey presto something always turns up!ive seen this happen lots of times now in my life and every time something better has come along.so if things get bad folks dont get fed up,its happening for a reason and things WILL get better!
