Would the vet ok a c section before hand even if no previous problems encountered !!! not sure if mine would ??? could be wrong tho - often am lo

Our bitches have also had both natural and c sections, when we first started breeding it seemed that the vets were mostly in favour of bitches doing things as nature intended without much intervention, however although we have a very good vet we have noticed that now the way of thinking tends to lean more to c sections whether this is to put less strain on the bitch ie making her less tired etc. I am not sure.

When we have had bitches who have had c-sections it was because things were not progressing as they should and they needed one most have been okay, and it was so easy to go pick them up from vets and not having to deal with any mess, however I still would prefer our bitches to have natural births if at all possible.

I wouldnt have my bitches have a c-section just because I find this easier.

I wouldn't opt for a c-section unless I really had no other choice, (never bred before though) I'm just going off what my c-section was like, it was total agony!!

I don't know if dogs are different, but for me I was in constant pain for 8 days after the op and then 6 months of not being able to do much (doctor's advise not to lift, strain, over excercise, etc)

and I would never go through it again, it was bad enough nursing one child with so much pain let alone up to 6 pups!

please note though, I don't know if human c-sections are any different from a dogs, but if they are not I would deffo NOT want my Chance going though it! (unless a real emergency)

well i think the same c section last choice for me have to be sure its needed.wouldnt think any vet would say its easyier on the bitch than natural birth unless complications

It must be very different for bitches-

Fluke was racing and back to peak fitness a matter of months after her C-Section.

Things have moved on so much-anaesthetic/procedures are better-

Even the celebs are opting for C-Sections rather than natural births-

Her scar is barely visible and she healed very quickly

Same with 'Time' healed very well.

The only 'undesirable' is the cost

but if you are intent on breeding-you must take what it brings....

blue goblins 2 litters were c section but had she been able to have them naturally i would of preferred it
