Hi is it possible for a miniature poodle to mate with a toy poodle ?

Yes. Though it's probably a very bad idea to let them.

Is there a reason for this?

Because there are so many unwanted pups bred that people need to ensure that the pups they produce will be superb examples of their type. Depending on breed, this could ensure genetic screening to determine health and level of relatedness, looking for history of congenital conditions in their parents, siblings, and previous generations, and so on. Also, the pups may be less saleable because they won't be pedigree - they will be crossbreeds.

It's not an area I know much about but I'm sure others with a lot of knowledge about breeding will come along and give you more advice.

I have just done a quick bit of homework and all poodles are the same breed, only divided by size. So 2 poodles of different sizes can be mated together and still produce pedigree puppies. A miniature standard is up to 15", a Standard starts at 16". I am not able to find how the Kennel club will register these puppies with the size difference in their breeding, as a Registered Miniature can grow to 16" !! So a small Standard would be 16" too.
But a poodle is a Poodle whatever the size and they are not different breeds.

amazing thank you.

It isn't a good idea for the bitch to be mated to a larger boy because of the potential for whelping problems.

They should have their hips scored (under general anaesthetic) and you are looking for a score of well below 10.5, and be tested for eye diseases.

Do you know their COI scores?

Sorry cross posted. What were their hip scores and COI out of interest?

I did mention I have had the tests done including PRA they are 1inch difference in size

As long as you have had the relevant checks and both dogs have a good sound nature i dont think 1 " will make a difference. ...poodles are scarce around here since all of the cross breeding with cockers and labs ...
Good luck ...;)
