Hope you'll all forgive me for putting this in whippets but he's mostly whippet.
This is Bryn and we're very sad this evening because we discovered this afternoon that Bryn had a swelling beside his bottom...at first i thought he had an impacted anal gland which he has had before.......however on further investigation and some latex gloves Bryn has a very large mass inside him running beside his bottom into his body, it extends atleast four inches into him and this evening his back has started to swell just in front and to the right of his tail base.
He is going to the vets in the morning but from the feel of things( and remember i work at the vets so have a pretty good idea what this is)i would say this is very very serious indeed.
Bryn is twelve years old and has a heart murmur therefore surgery of any kind holds a greater risk but given the location of this mass i would say it is highly unlikely to be operable,it is very solid and immobile.
I cannot tell you all how upset i am tonight because we are going through hell with Parker just now and we've just had our scare from Moonpig, with the credit crunch i don't know how much longer i'll have a job AND my sweet sweet little dog appears to have major problems...will someone please just shoot me now as i'm not sure i can do this anymore.
