I am    had lots of trouble with our phone line peeking yesterday with so much crackle and noise on the line just couldn't hear anyone speak.

Phoned to report fault now you have to do a page of your own checks then if you still want an engineer to look you speak to some indian man who tells you if the fault is on your property its £116 call out fee

I can't believe this country any more just wish Leon would move to Ireland

Well waiting for the repair man and everything crossed that we don't have to pay :sweating:

tell them if they cant repair for free you will change your provider to ???? bet they offer you a free or cheaper repair but ask to speak to a manager.

its pathetic sometimes.... I know when we had all the trouble with AOL v BT over our internet connection....we got Indian call centres all the time...no sense whatsoever at times..

Now we have learned we live in an area where only a certain speed of Broadband can be used......in the sticks its called...

In this day and age though you would think they could sort it quicker...

I may be wrong, but I understood that if you changed to another supplier you still have to pay BT for the line rental. Also I was told when needed a repair that the charge was made if the fault was with your own equipment i.e extension lines etc but that BT were responsible for the line as far as the first box [or whatever its called] in the house.

I would like to know if this isn't the case.

A friends phone was dead so she called BT. They said if it was a outside fault there would be no charge but if it was in the house there would be.

They came out and it was all ok outside so they had to arrange a time to come and check inside as she as working. It turns out the daughter had accidently unpluged the phone while connecting her laptop. :- "

Bill came through the post and was just short of £200

(w00t) (w00t) how riduculous...

We had this problem with our phone line, 3 times they said they would come out but never turned up then one day out of the blue they arrived, they did something to the line outside, we never got charged and it was fine afterwards, good luck hope it gets sorted.

Disgusting!

We are with sky, and they can be faulty sometimes. when we first got sky wireless it was irritating always disconnecting

We don't get problems with sky OH'S nephew is an engineer. For the last few days it was saying that it was not connected to the phone line nephew came out and said the extension was at fault but the broadband was plugged into the same extension and still working. He was right tried a different leadand hey presto itsok again. We still have bt phone though

Yes that's what I was told too

Well an engineer finally turned up this morning (w00t) (w00t)

After being told def visit yesterday pm and yet more calls to a call centre in India

Their fault so no charge for us  but we have had a week with touch and go internet access no main line phone and staying in two days running for the phantom engineer.

I am going to write a letter of complait .

Just be warned though check and recheck everything before calling BT out on a fault or get charged silly money

A Happy Lillibet ;)
