Wendy the Whippet

There's lots of test been carried out on whippets (in particular) all over the world to try and identify what causes over muscled "bully" dogs and as far as i know it is being put down to a genetic mutation. It's worth non ped owners taking note of their findings - i think Jacqui has sent for the papers for the dog genome project. There were people from this site who participated in sending swabs off to help with the study, i think Mac was one of them (Master Blaster x Blue Goblin).

Obviously it has always been thought that stocky dogs were throw backs to the staff used years ago but Wendy is said to be a pedigree whippet as are others that have been affected. Interesting is that this doesn't happen in English KC Reg Whippets from what i've read.
