vicky,...all i ment was if the no limit is a strait final, then i think that it will be won from the red box..
Colin and Amanda flipped a coin for the red box in the final of the Tyrone Maurice,so if theirs a few 'railers' make the final you better bring plenty of change ;)

Karen

I was not there when the coin was flipped, When I queried the choice of boxes with the Secretary I was told that a coin was flipped in the bar, as I believed the dogs went down the card and on this basis we should have had the inside trap.

Never mind perhaps I should fetch my piggy bank along for loose change or a double sided coin :- "

I think that them with dogs that are seeded, should be present, wether its tossing a coin or pulling out of the hat. Then its seen to be fair.

So lets let this be known to the committee

spot on geoff,, fair is fair...

if there is 6 dogs enterd, then they should be race selected out off a bag,, then any seeds drawn for the same race, should go back in the bag and be re drawn.... i am sure all scrach racers would be happy with this .. 100% fair!

I agree too, public draws are most definately the way to go and I would hope no-one takes it as a 'personal insult' if I requested to be present for them.

It's simple enough to do, Vicky's done an announcement over the tannoy after taking entries for North West events asking scratch racers to gather in the bar to witness the draw. It's a 5 minute job that's well worth doing IMO.

Thought you and Colin were both present Amanda  Agree with all thats been said about this, and a while ago had already mentioned to a commitee member a request for the draw to be done in public  It is not a case of not trusting the commitee. It is quite simply a case of seeing to be fair. For those of us with railers, there would be nothing worse than going home thinking,'If only....'.Get the draw done in public, and reduce the 'If onlys' down a bit  Could a member of the commitee, let us know if a public draw will be happening, please :) Karen

Without wishing to seem thick...........and i know it's a BWRA thread, is this not something that both the Fed and Bwra might adopt? perhaps comments from both committees might be useful?

Chris

Fed do the draw at weigh table when possible and is always open for anyone to be there ... usually its normally me that does it i always get a member to draw numbers out or don has a bag with numbered balls in thats used too

coments as requested on behalf of the NNWRF

ALL OWNERS OF THE SCRATCH DOGS WERE CALLED IN TO THE DRAW FOR TRAPS AT THE BEND DERBY THIS YEAR (and guess what there were still snide comments, from a couple of them. There are some you can never please even if they could select their own trap )

Anyone as allways is welcome to sit in whilst the draw is being done at any NNWRF event

The NNWRF/HIGHGATE LEDGER 22nd March is going to be a full open draw which will be done in the bar everyone will receive a blank programme which they can fill in as the draw is done

All dogs will be numbered and a number will be drawn out ALL WILL RUN AS DRAWN

YOU MAY SWAP TRAPS IF POSSIBLE BUT KEEP THE CLOURS YOU HAVE DRAWN

Can I select my own trap please, I promise I won't make any snide remarks

ps. that will be the red trap

 Thanks Dee, never knew that the system ever existed, not having had a scratch dog before, not something you look out for, guess you have to find it out bit by bit :D

Its done for the full program chris... another good idea for scr racing would be the way some greyhound opens are run ...dogs given what ever trap and color and all owners draw at the traps just before there race to what ever trap there dogs run from usually colored disks

Ta Dee, I think it sounds a fab idea, then if people are unhappy it cant be because the draw was done behind closed doors, and there is no come back.

Good Luck to all dogs at the champs
