i am just pointing out a fact, and dont see how it will stop me from racing my dog as it is already registered with the bwra...

and when or where have i complained that i cant run.? my dog runs where i chose.

If people want to try 4 bends try it, but why

Moan about prize money , if you only want

To try 4 bends ? 4 dogs enter 40 quid won

Probably more than supreme winner !

The North West committee felt it was unfair to award a greater amount of prize money to an additional event that is outside of the normal BWRA racing format. Also, in respect to the BWRA's new change in format we felt it was respectful to the organisation to discourage financial gain from racing dogs that could be disputed as racing whippets under the BWRA's new ruling.

Out of respect to racers who's dogs would be excluded from running in the BWRA racing format, we decided to let the race itself stand but without the large prize money that's been associated with it in the past.
WHAT HAS THE SIZE OF A DOG GOT TO DO WITH THIS RACE, I THOUGHT IT WAS PUT ON FOR PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO TRY THERE DOG OVER 4 BENDS..THE RACE IS FOR ANY DOG, NOT JUST DOGS THAT ARE OVER 55LB..

AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE MOST PROLIFIC WINNER, YOU WILL FIND THAT IT WAS A 40LB ER.. FOR SALE, WHO WON IT 2 TIMES..
Maurice the reason size was mentioned because there may well be legislation governing the no limit class on the day of our event. By allowing the 435yd race to run we are providing a means for those dogs that could fall under exclusion to race competitively. Subsidizing this race over the dogs running in the handicap could be seen as an insult to the bwra and it's handicap racers who may well run more than 435yds that day.

If you personally feel this is unfair then I respect your decision if you choose not to attend, I hope you'll respect that we are trying to be fair to everybody and hope you'll be present at weigh in on the day.

sorry jacs, i was thinking the race was only for bwra registered dogs to race.

See where Maurice is coming from Jac as last year the race was open to lurchers, which would possibly have been excluded from BWRA,but on saying that,go and enjoy the race Maurice,it's never been about the money,or none of us would race our dogs :lol:You only race the bends, make the most of them thats on offer  :D

at least anyone allready regestered over the 55 limit can still run ,gary has pups ready to race only 42 pound cant even regester with the bwra because of the breeding 14 month old too double standards seems to ring true

Will there be a terrier race this year? Rafferty has his title to defend & will need to start training soon if he wants to be Terrier Supreme Champion again :clown:
Go Rafferty-Lol

Is he looking fit?

Mum says Razzle's in training! I wouldn't worry though Julie because I recon Dad will be slipping her chedders everytime her back is turned! (w00t)

well were coming to watch as the vans ok for now  love watching the terrers. i had better get knitting aswell and bring some stuff up with us

John's ferry comes in Saturday morning and he's out "sight seeing" round Tyldesley Saturday night - looking forward to it.

Hope the weather holds off for the next week, trials were cancelled yesterday so Mark will go up to the track early morning to double check, if there's still snow by then i advise everyone gives him a ring before setting off 07843 595047

Ive just spoke to Louise at the track. The grounds are snow covered and the track has a skiff of snow over it too but it hasnt froze underneath. More snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow with temps to increase to 4c towards the end of the week.

I always use www.accuweather.co.uk and to be honest im not holding out much up on an upturn in the weather conditions for the weekend.

Louise said that they really wont know if the track will run until Sunday morning....now thats understandable, but for me to risk £300 to possibly get shot-down on sunday morning is too much.

Im hanging-back till wednseday night before i finally decide.

VICKY TURN THE HEAT UP WILL YA AND SHOOT THE NEXT STUPID BARSTEWARD WHO MENTIONS GLOBAL WARMING !

Weather warming up round here hope it keeps up for weekend

Should be a good day!

Thw weathers alot better here too ...hope it stays okay for the weekend

Forecast 5 °C Saturday so fingers crossed it doesn't freeze overnight.

As i've said, Mark will check early Sunday morning.

Vicky - we've had quite a bit of ground frost, but its been thawing out quite quickly

round hear, the ground was froze this morning, but by 10am it was gone,

it's suposed to be partly cloudy and temp 1c on sat night,

we dont have any more snow forcast, mind you when they have forcast it

all we get is a ground covering.
