I have telephoned all regional secretarys and given them the following information

to pass onto their members who do not have access to K9

The vote from the regions was to take the championships to Swallownest

regards Doreen

following the result of the vote for the BWRA championships a member of the BWRA National Committee will now contact a member of the N.N.W.R.F to determine the terms and conditions for us to stage our straight championships at Swallownest

regards Doreen

Glad everything has been sorted. And thankyou to the Bwra for keeping us all imformed.

Many thanks to the BWRA committee who have gone to so much trouble. I hope all goes well and those who are able to go to Swollowsnest have a good weekends racing.

Good luck for the Straight Championships I hope that all goes well for the committee the workers and all who are racing their dogs.

Good luck everyone competing. :luck: :luck: :luck:

well done the bwra for the hard work they put in to get somewhere for champs. although this wasnt my personal choice because the thing that is on everyones mind is how good will the track be?? will it be watered?? will the 1" gaps be all gone?? will there be footballers on it??

i think more people should have thought about there dogs and the welfare of them, rather than how long it takes to get there.

Ive have just been asked by Mrs D Bellwood to inform the BWRA person/persons whom is dealing with the forthcoming championship to deal with her, as she is nearly always available on the phone

you go and find somewhere better then piglet (w00t) you should be grateful you have a venue to run at that suites all members personally i didnt care where it went but i think thank you swallowsnest :) is more appropriate than negativity. :(

I dont think piglet is being negative, like alot of racers he is worried about the safety of the dogs and that should come first.

if anybody thinks the track at swallowsnest is not safe to run there dogs on DON'T run them. remember the first couple of year at asfordby it was'nt the best track but the majority still ran there dogs on it.

alot of work for weeks went into Asfordby track and it was waterd for weeks leading up to the champs. The track is used for racing only, it is not part of a football pitch, This is what most racers are concerned about. Also the lack of watering its had.

There was 2 safe tracks to choose from that needed no work doing on them I think you will find thats what piglet ment in his post. Why should those who are worried have to miss the champs when there is 2 safe venues we could have used.

Im not putting Swollows nest down, but like piglet I dont think its the best for the dogs. IMO

ken don't run your dogs then, the majority of members have voted for swallowsnest so just accept it,if the vote had gone the other way i would have accepted it,ands if your not putting swallowsnest down it sure sounds like it to me.

the best track prob wudve have been kirkaldy IMO as i do believe scotland have actually had some rain. non of us have raced @ moreton on the marsh so none of us really know wot that track is actually like apart from seeing photographs on here. the majority of racers have raced @ swallownest so we all know roughly wot it is like and im sure its not as bad as wot people r making out u know footballers on it etc etc. to be honest it wasnt fantastic @ the begining of the year but we all ran on it or @ least the majority of us did. if i do get there and i think whooa this is terrible then like john g says i wont race my dogs on it but @ least i wont have had a 7 or 8 hour journey. anyway its been decided now so its pointless moaning about it. theres a few weeks yet till the champs so im sure it will b the best it can be by then. good luck i say and thanks to swallownest for having us back there!

Like John Gill says people will vote with their feet if they think it's a poor venue, they just won't run their dogs. IMO we didn't have much of a choice from only 3 venues so you just have no chance of pleasing everyone.

not putting any track down john, you have your opinion I have mine. With time and work Swollow nest will improve, untill it has my dogs will not race across 1" deep ruts. Adog we had years ago smashed its leg going down a smaller rut than that, We couldnt go through that again. So we have made our choice not to run our girls. We know alot of ped members that use Moreton, its a good track. And it was a kind offer, as was Scotland.

I did just that at swallowsnest classic and didn't enter my dog after seeing the track, have no problems with doing it again.

i think the track at swallowsnest will get better & better. And footballers dont play in stud boots in this weather so the ground will be ok. well done the committee
