Twice this week Dippy has had a running/playing mishap, where the first time she ran into a dog at speed and knocked her shoulder out a bit and the second time she was having a bit of rough and tumble play when the same thing happened again...it was the same shoulder.

I manipulated her leg and shoulder and massaged it for a while and it went back to normal.

She walks stiffly for a few hours and doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort afterwards, although she screams like a banshee when its happening.

I've this happen to Inca before and it was the vet that showed me how sort it out.

Has anyone else's dog had this happen and is it a "normal" thing to happen.

I'm just concerned that its happened twice in the space 3 days.

sorry, can't offer any advice, just sending good wishes :luck:

I think if it happnes agin i would put her on lead only excersic for a few days at least to give time for the mussles and ligaments to get back to normal. if a human pops a sholder they have to were a sling for some time and be very carefull it dosnt go back out. if it keeps happening I would go back to the vets

Thanks Wendy, thats something the vet didn't advise when it happened to Inca but it does make sense.

I know when our lot go to the bone man ostiopath he allways says on lead for a few days after a manipulation for there bodys to settal

Thanks, I'll keep her on the lead for a few days and see how she goes

You new pup is gorgeous Wendy...when do I get to meet her?

shes only 7 weeks so need her jabs first but as soon as shes jabed and chiped i will let you know shes very tiny only just over 4lb so she will be 1/2 the size of inca when shes big lol

Aaawwww just the right size for me to put in my pocket and sneak away with LOL

poor dippy  ,hope she is ok

She seems ok Pat but I'm going to keep on the lead for the next few days to be sure
