I have posted this on the Working and Lure Coursing forum but I know that alot of the non-ped racing folk have experience with lure machines so I thought I'd ask here as well

Just when I wanted to start the dogs off with a bit of practice, my lure machine has given up the ghost sad.gif

When last used, it was working fine. I got it out again and it didn't work!

There is still power getting to the motor, but all that happens is a "click" and the spool gives a little jerk and that's it blink.gif

It's not damp and I've tried tapping the starter motor with a hammer but ....... nothing wacko.gif

If it was a car I'd try to rock it back and forwards whilst in gear in case the motor was jammed but I can't work out how to do that with a lure machine laughing.gif

Can anyone throw any light on what might have happened and if it can be fixed, please?

Thanks in advance thumbsup.gif

Try cleaning the connections on the battery, make sure there's no loose connections on the cellanoid, also fully charge the battery  :luck: you'll need it Jane

Also it could be a dodgy on/off switch

Also try, On the motor there should be what looks like two bigish cross head screws, underneath those are what looks like black carbon sticks being held in with springs, these may need cleaning and also where these rub on a copper looking part may also needs cleaning. both should clean up with wire wool, or sand paper and cleaned with meths or even petrol. Do Not forget to disconnect the battery before cleaning.

Depending how your lure is wired up it may also be a faulty starter solonoid. Best of luck
