Hello there

I have been trying to take pictures of my two whippets with my Casio Exilim EX Z40.

However, it is not really quick enough for taking pictures when the dogs are running or moving.

Can anyone recommend a good camera with a quick shutter speed?

My budget is £200-350.

Thanks for any help!

The Fugi F11 is a nice one with a good shutter speed

You need a shutter speed of at least 1/500 if you want to catch the blighters running! You can help by panning along with the dogs, that way, you get a sharp piccie of them, but the background blurs giving a sense of motion.

I use a Nikon Coolpix 8800 which cost a lot more than you want to spend, but I've recently bought a smaller Coolpix for my mum and dad and that copes quite well with action stuff.

i personally like Nikon gear, but there are so many good cameras on the market, it's hard to chose. You could perhaps buy a "WHICH CAMERA" magazine. They are always full of good advice.

PS Even with a good camera, it's hard to get a good running shot, so just practise lots!!!
