Does anyone know if dogs can catch myxomatosis? The one that Grace caught this afternoon was a bit puffy around the eyes, and although she didn't eat any of it she did have it in her mouth for a fair while. I've tried googling for an answer and opinion seems to be divided, and since it is bank holiday weekend I'd rather not disturb the vet unnecessarily.

no just rabbits can catch it your dog will be fine

No nothing to worry about- it is a horrible disease but dogs cannot get it- mine have regularly caught myxi rabbits with no ill effects at all :)

Although dogs can't get mixy themselves they can apparently carry the disease home and give it to any pet rabbits you may have.
