......about a well known animal rescue organisation?
I found a pup this morning straying on a very busy road in Birmingham. When she ran in front of my car I was just about to remonstrate with her 'owner' when i noticed he was trying to shoo her away. So, I turned the car round and pulled in front asking him " is this not your dog?" politely - honest! o
He said she wasn't so i said if he gave me a hand getting her into my car I'd take her to the aforementioned well known animal rescue organisation. He did, and I did ............and was met with the most unhelpful response you could imagine. I explained where i'd found her and asked if they could take her and the girl wouldn't open the door more than 6 inches - said something to someone over her shoulder and said 'nah, can't elp' i asked what i should do ' you'll have to take her to the dogs home' all said in the whiney drone of a teenager trying to get out of household chores!
Now i can understand that they may well have been full - in which case " we're very sorry but we haven't got room...........lets at least scan to see if she's chipped and if not you're best bet is to take her to the dog's home etc" would have been perfectly ok
So, back in the car and off to my vets for a scan - no chip and they told me to take her to the local cop shop.........who i must say were very helpful.
So, i was an hour late for work - my car which was only valeted last week (following an incident with a rat - don't ask!) is again trashed, smelly and muddy.
But at least the little girl is safe and well and hopefully will be back where she belongs very soon
This is just my latest gripe with the well known animal rescue organisation - if you're not leaving them huge piles in your will, they just don't seem to want to help
