We've got a whippet section, lurcher section and a Iggy section - is there any chance of having a greyhound section?

Although that would mean I would have to talk about my beautiful boys even more than I already do! :- "

i agree :) ...a lot of people who have whippets also have a greyhound anyway and talk about them here.... when i joined i thought it was a bit odd not having a greyhound section?...is there a reason for this?

 I've just realised I made a boo boo in the title - I did actually mean greyhound not greyhouund! See I just get so carried away when I think about my lovely boys that I can't spell! (w00t) , well that's my excuse anyway.

I think a terrier section would be good too

How about a page 3 section

Some people consider them DOGS

Yes please to the greyhound section!!!!!!!! :)) ))

It seems like I'm not the only person ruled by a greyhound (or two)! :D

Does anyone know how to go about getting a greyhhound section then??

Yes, a greyhound forum is on the cards. Nigel is just trying to find time to get round to it. I'll give him a kick..... I mean a kiss

There could be serious problems between the Racing people and the Anties.

From past experiance on other sites its ends up with people being banned for one view or the other.

True. My dogs are rescue and they have both been through a horrific time, it is very difficult to be neutral and see both sides.

I'm sure there are probably good race kennels etc but my boys didn't experience that. But isn't that the same with whippets etc or is their racing different?

Perhaps it could be a split site or a rescue site? I don't know, I just thought it would be nice because greyhounds don't really fit into the other forums properly and I love talking about my boys (as people may have noticed!!)

A greyhound section would be good, as lots of K9 ers own greyhounds as well as whippets.

But probably a section for pet greyhounds only. I'm sure all racing Greyhound owners shouldn't be tarred with the same brush and there are good people in racing but including racing hounds will no doubt lead to negative discussions.

I'v never owned a greyhound but would love to read about them on this forum.

I think it would also encourage more people to look at rehoming ex racers if they

could gather information about them here. :)

No its not the same, whippets are raced for fun, not money

and imo whippets are pets first and racers second

I have a greyhound, William, but if they split a forum for racing and rescue greyhounds or just for rescues William would not fit into either as he was not rescued and he has never even seen a rescue track the problem being William is a show greyhound so we would be out on a limb so to speak all on our own

I know Michelle West shows her greyhound Tiggy but she is an ex racer and William is actually bred of show only parents

The difference is William is a lot bigger and heavier built than a racing greyhound

Thanks for clearing that up for me - like I said, I know nothing about whippet racing, I had an idea it was different but wasn't sure.

I think Mazza's idea for a pet greyhound section is a good one, then that would include William as well (I'd love to see pics, he sounds scrummy) :)

....but there is a different arguement with whippets over hunting!...i think all it needs on any forum is to respect other peoples lifestyles and opinions ...have an open mind....and remember there is good and bad in everything whatever it is!

Maybe we could all just promise to be really nice to each other? Or am I being particularly naive? :D I still think a greyhound section would be lovely.....

I would like to see pictures of greyhounds and read about them as we do with whippets and lurchers, so I think a greyhound section would be good
